Fallout The Eagle And The Bear [Fallout AU]

Neat that extra power makes me think they have some sort of personal force-shielding or Tesla field. Nice to see the US is still committing to overhauling electronics and programming more towards something we had decades ago.

I Imagine a personal shielding would be like the ones the aliens used in mothership zeta .

Yeah something like that would do amazing things to battlefield endurance and repair logistics, unlike armor shields regenerate after all. If it's a Tesla system the suit could do anything from prematurely detonating incoming munitions, destabilizing a plasma round;s magnetic containment, to making city or bunker fighting a nightmare.

Yeah , they'd probably be nigh invulnerable to most infantry weapons unless the NCR can mass produce those pulse weapons from Big MT that can disable shields.

TBF the physics in the Falloutverse are closer to Dune/WH30k such that the semiconductors that our civilization is based on are more difficult to produce and/or work with than literally putting your brain into a jar of brain sustaining goo and controlling things with TESLA COILS!

I am glad to see that despite the problems that the NCR does have some teeth. While I expect the Enclave to win the NCR does have a lot of advantages like mad science manpower. That some of the higher ups can see though some of the Enclave plots gives me hope that this will be a true war instead of a walkover.

The bid thing is that the Enclave will soon be stretched thin as they try to hold a much larger amount of land. Even with a friendly Texas I can see them running out of army groups quick.

With WWIV about to kick into high gear I would say they are pretty busy about now, though penetration into BOS and Texan areas would be difficult.

Any territory either NCR or BOS annex or plan to annex will ban their presence
Strangely enough I suspect keeping people that offer free medical help out of your borders is a lot harder than they think. The BOS are not handing out modern medical care to the populace after all. Plus I would think they built a robust network in Texas during the neutral years.

What exactly is life like under the Brotherhood?

I keep thinking of something akin to feudalism+fascism+socialism and just about everybody living under military rations and underground military bunkers

Gotta make sure the “serfs” are technologically stagnant too lest they destroy themselves

According to the OP the civilians are kept in 1920s tech based around supplying the military complex with food, bodies, and material. Personal liberties are probably curtailed and large scale communication and migration made extremely difficult thanks to technology restriction. I assume members of the military, which is basically the state, live extremely regimented lives as we have seen in the games rife with indoctrination.

Well, at the very least they don’t seem to sound like they’ve fallen into the extreme “secret” decadence of communist upper classes

The way they've built their settlements to foster a permanent siege mentality would strongly preclude this. Not that they don't have good reason for doing this considering they are being squeezed by both the NCR and Enclave / E-USA.

I'm surprised nobody has talked about the final secret projects mentioned.
“Antares?”

“Doctor Mobius has finally given us the blueprints.”

“Nemesis?”

“Preliminary excavation is taking place at Mount Shasta, but we won’t be complete until late 2334.”

“Then we’ll finally be able to hit them where it hurts, if they’ve lasted that long.”
To be fair this is not a lot to go off of. With decades of R&D and fallout mad science Antares could be anything from a massive sun mirror to anti-matter munitions. All Nemesis tells us is that it might involve geothermal power via volcano.

I think Antares might mean the NCR was given the blueprints for the X-42 Giant Robo-Scorpion.

So, uh, Giant Robo-Scorpion vs Liberty Prime?

As long as you veiw it from a safe distance like a couple of states away.

Really the names give little to go on. But likely a lot come from the mad science from different DLCs. I still want to see some talking deathclaw special forces author word of God be dammed.
