No joke -- I came across a YouTube video many moons ago where a bunch of American students and teachers were given UK GCSE and A-levels maths problems, and the high school seniors (17/18) were utterly clueless (GCSE) and the teachers were saying this was advanced "college" (university) level stuff (A-levels) that even they struggled with.More accurately, the actual reason the world thinks the US education system is shit, is because it truly us, utterly shitty.
It's more about pushing an ideology than educating children as this point. It's an absolute joke.
On the opposite end, a bunch of GCSE students were given the stuff Americans learn in their final year of high school, and they were like, "uh, we already did this sort of thing when we were like 12/13".
It was basically basic math.
So, yeah. People call Americans dumbasses on the whole for a reason. shrug
I'll see if I can find that video again in my history.
