ikr? They can't put forward any competent candidate because statistically they will be an old white man. Can't put forward a minority candidate either because odds are they have crackpot ideas that would turn voters off. It's a catch-22 and demorat cities will get more riots either way.

I doubt impeachment will take off, but there's a reasonable chance someone ends up failing onto thier sword to atone for this. Or rather, there's a chance that someone ends up lying facedown with a sword through thier chest, the question if they fell or got shoved onto it.
