Star Wars Zachowon's The Book of Boba Fett Thread

Having Luke force a choice on the little guy is just terrible writing. It's really stupid, both in-universe and just as a narrative choice. This kind of "you must choose on or the other", especially when forced by an adult on a kid, is always a villain move. This is what a gas-lighting, manipulative parental figure does when his victim finds a new friend and may therefore find an avenue out of the manipulations of the parental figure.

Anyway, this shit depiction of Luke just shows us that, somehow, he was already becoming the utter shit-heel he would later become, trying to kill his nephew and abandoning the galaxy to suffer.

It's only fair to point out that this isn't the Luke of the EU's NJO series who has already rebuilt a New Jedi Order with new theology and policies, or even the Luke of the Disneyverse sequels who has lost his rebuilt Jedi Order and essentially given up. This is Luke just five years after RoTJ, when he's just starting to try to rebuild the Jedi from the fragmentary remains, with minimal help from a still-aloof Ahsoka who not only still doesn't consider herself a Jedi, but also is quite clearly still unsure whether or not the continued existence of the Jedi is actually good for the galaxy.

As for the "abandoning the galaxy to suffer", that is literally what every Jedi we've ever seen in Star Wars ever does with the big problems, so why shouldn't Luke follow that proud tradition?

And which theory this would be?

That essentially Fioni and John is doing their own version of "Heir to the Empire" that will cause of chain reaction of events that will cause Luke and Ahsoka to discover Palpatine's clones and stopping them in their tracks thus preventing Snokes creation and Ben's turn thus retconning the sequel trilogy as an alternate timeline that essentially exist as a result of a "Dark Side Ending." While this theoretical new "Light Side Ending" timeline will be the main one that Disney follows from then onward.

TL;DR the lucasfilm story group is using the Mandalorian and the book of Boba Fett as a jumping off point to introduce the Star Wars multiverse thus being able to softcore retcon the ST and ignore it's existence without having to lose face.

I know this blew past most of us, but Max Rebo was not shown in Sanctuary when the Pyke's blew it up.

So he may survive both Jabba's barge being destroyed, and avoid being blown up by the Pyke's.

Dude might want to find another planet to play gigs on, so he stops pushing his luck.

Hmm.

It's quite possible that Disney will do, as you said, a 'softcore retcon' of the Sequel Trilogy. IMO it won't happen any time soon, though, so while I wouldn't discard The Mandalorian being the start point for that, things should be too far in the future for me to really consider this(so, I'd wait and see for some time before concluding anything about this, just as you seem to be doing).

Something I heard elsehwere in regards to The Book of Boba Fett is that... I just heard how Temeura Morrison apparently didn't want that many lines to keep true to the character or whatever... it makes me wonder if shifting a POV to Fennec Shand as the focal character and seeing Boba Fett's Empire being build from her perspective as the Majordomo or Lieutenant would've maybe been more interesting for later episodes after we get Boba Fett's post-Death origin story out of the way.

She's basically doing a lot of the verbal advising and leg work already in the series after all.

That they want to do something that at least has similarities to the Thrawn trilogy is obvious, but that's not some secret theory that only the super-smart have figured out. People have been talking about that everywhere since Thrawn and Ezra disappeared, and Ahsoka's search for Thrawn + Mount Tantiss appearing only bolsters that notion. If people really think they can call themselves smart and act super-smug for having spotted that, it only proves that they have a really bad case of Dunning-Kruger.

Meanwhile, the notion of the timeline being re-written and the sequels erased is just total bullshit. Don't get me wrong, it'd be great, but it's just not happening. Delusional idiots convince themselves of this "secret plan" and then keep posting idiotic rants on YouTube, getting only the most gullible of morons to believe them. This is the same crowd that has been saying for years that Kathleen Kennedy is definitely getting fired next month, for sure, it's true this time, trust us, tHerE's a mAsTEr pLaN!

...In any event, none of this theorising in any way excuses shitty writing, so even in the hypothetical scenario that they are working towards something cool, that barely matters. A shit journey to a good destination is still a shit journey.

So whose going to show up in the finale? There should be Vegas Odds for all of the theories now and... thanks to the last two episodes... EVERY THEORY IS EQUALLY VALID!

1. Emilia Clarke. Qira, Mother of Crimson Dragons
2. HAN SOLO?!?!?!
3. Lando!
4. A'sharred Hett!
5. Bossk, he's a Trandoshan!
6. That girl from the Bad Batch (I haven't seen Bad Batch) 🤷‍♀️
7. Rex! He has a Beard!
8. EZRA BRIDGER
9. SABINE WREN, She's MANDALORIAN TOO!
10. THE KNIGHTS OF REN!!!!1

Dude, I'm reading all of this in those RedLetterMedia voices.

“I liked the part with Cad Bane!”
“Tuscan raiders, tuscan raiders!”
“IT BROKE NEW GROUND!”

There’s one reason why this probably won’t happen: it would mean Lucasfilm and Disney would be all but announcing that yes, their handling of the sequels was bad.

I would've been supremely more interested in Boba Fett if his Tusken Raider Girlfriend emerged from the Desert Wastelands instead of Cad Bane. There'd of been an actual way to establish a relationship between the Tuskens and Cobb Vanth and Boba Fett and all of these characters who have immediate relevance to his story.

I dunno. Studios reboot stuff all the time. If it made them more money I doubt they'd care if the Sequels got shat on. Maybe there'd be an ego issue with Kathleen Kennedy but other than that, I'm sure it'd be general indifference. Regardless of what they do, I'd prefer they treat the Sequels with about as much respect as anything in the Legends canon or whatever. Just use what works and ignore the rest as needed.

I always thought that Tusken was supposed to be a younger one, not a female, actually.

The smaller one that "owned" him and he then saved from the six-limbed lizard creature was a child. The Tusken warrior with the red accents on the robes, the one who beat the crap out of him when he tried to escape and then later trained him, was female.

Yep.
Hard to tell buy it was noticeable a little later on by the body shape compared to the others

The Vail of the Force thing, yeah Doomcock mentioned that loong ago!

On the one hand I want good Star Wars back and understand that with the ST it will be hard to pull.
On the other I hate Cinematic "Multiverses" and semi-acknowledged soft-retcons like that make me wanna puke, I'd rather see Disney out and out say it was a huge mistake and overpriced fan fiction made by morons.

Doomcock apparently loved episode 6 of the Mandalorian...um, BoBF.

Jokes aside, and I am pretty sure that was more joke than Freudian slip.

He, Kamran and the rest of his group are ecstatic.

Spoiler for the final episode of Boba Fett.

Bane will be baked. Then we will have cake.

Looks like the Rancor is getting a special treat... 😋🍰
