China Wuhan Virus Pandemic

So according to the WHO, who have of late somewhat gotten their act together (no longer in China's interest to hide anything), asymptomatic spread of Covid-19 is preposterously rare.

What the flying fuck was the point of the shit spewing train wreck that has been the last few months then? "Grandma" died anyway, didn't she?
I am caught between having deep distrust and suspicion of anything stated by the WHO, and furious indignation at them and others for possibly, if this is the case, the most colossal, monumental, phenomenal fuck-up of the 21st-century thus far...And then, on the third-hand, a halfway-excusing but also even FURTHER infuriating anger at them and other health officials for the now multiple-times repeated backtrackings, changes, and adjustments made that, best case, actually ARE the result of more data and better information coming into health agencies (*cough* To the depths of hell with the communist bandits of the PRC for necessitating this *cough*), but which post-date all the incomplete information and guesswork that's been pushed and publicized with those caveats and footnotes about how further data was still coming in glossed over or just never present to begin with.

I can't quite settle on which one I'm feeling the most. Probably the first. The WHO can join their masters in the depths, and I'm skeptical of this kind of statement from them.

I'll believe that the WHO have "gotten their act together" when they start condemning China for causing a global pandemic in the first place, and not a moment before. As it stands, my only thoughts regarding this statement from them boils down to "how does the WHO saying this benefit China?"

If it was politically motivated then it is worse than that. Using faked data to short circuit research into a potential treatment for a disease that is killing thousands because 'dRumPh! bespeaks something more sinister.

And I too am unsurprised.

It’s not because of “Drumpf”, it’s because Gilead Sciences stands to make a fortune off of the very expensive Remdesivir, and they don’t want their profits undercut by chloroquine, which is cheap.

As it turns out, neither chloroquine nor Remdesivir are a particularly good treatment. Interferon, lopinavir, and ritonavir are all better.

Yeah, but what about their investors?

Between nefarious companies co-operating in a conspiracy (an incompetent one started by some random hack doctor) trying to temporarily increase share values in a company which makes a rival product only profitable in developed countries by dissing a cheaper rival. And news services just jumping on the opportunity to try and make Trump look dumb and damn the consequences I've gotta say I find the latter one more believable.

Though note I would not entirely put aside what you've said, I just find the alternative more likely to be a more important motivator for the widespread press coverage.

Hey is this the information dossier that made Kiwifarms brand you an "unhinged doomsayer"?

My experience is people without horrific risk factors autobiokinetically resist it from not living in a dystopia. That's why it's sucking so bad for the PRC, and the real reason why America's doing well, and why the detrimental robots became twice as robotic and thrice as detrimental when it hit American shores.

Some more ridiculous news for you. In Britain, even though all the non essential shops can open next Monday, the Pubs still aren't opening this month.

Did Coronavirus slice off Boris Johnson's balls, or is this part of a desperate attempt to save face over the worst policy decision of the early 21st century? There are freshly minted historians leaving University right now that will make their careers documenting this tragicomedy.

Yes but if they graduated the current education system many of them will be defending it.

I don't know. Even a lot of the old papers who drove the hysteria in the first place are now trying to sweep all that under the rug and start questioning government policy. Give it a year, and people will almost universally view the Lockdown as a disaster. My bloody middle aged Mum thinks it was a mistake!

Give it ten years, and even the most hardcore defenders of Lockdown will, upon it being mentioned, roll their eyes (whilst cringing inside over their behaviour during that time) and say "yeah, that was madness."

History is not going to be kind at all to this generation of politicians.

Vanguard Group is literally one of those stock index funds that you buy shares of for your 401K or whatever. That's why it's got a ton of shares - people are paying them to buy shares to get in on the stock market.

Yes, and just like any mutual fund, they need a way to ensure a return for their clients. Every single part of Wall Street is heavily invested in manipulating our media.

I did that. I changed my title and avatar to that, in an act of self-parody.

And no, this is the Cliff’s Notes version of that.

Yes. China is massively understating the number of cases they've had.

I know even more about this database leak. What they don't tell you is that the number of cases at each location in each row have been redacted.

It's not 640,000 cases. It's 640,000 distinct locations, of which any one of them could have actually had multiple cases.

With your knowledge of the deros, gangster computer god, glowies, etc, that eclipses mine by far
have you considered the possibility that it was allowed to get so many dopas
not from actual merit?
but from the fact that they decided that allowing people to read it would scare and demoralize them?
and advance their agenda.
Consider whose hand you're playing into, because you're part of someone's plan at any moment.

Which one between over and under reports would benefit a corrupt official more?

While you are raising a valid point - that just because information was obtained by a "leak", that does not mean it's always accurate - I think you are assuming more competence than there might actually be there.
Sometimes, corrupt officials really don't think very far ahead.

Showing once again that the Left always projects their faults and crimes onto the Right, we now have the mayor of NYC trying to control what people do in their bedrooms.
Because obviously pod-people cannot be allowed to reproduce without permission from Daddy Government, and Corona China Virus gives them the perfect excuse to do so.
You are your safest sex partner. Masturbation will not spread COVID-19, especially if you wash your hands (and any sex toys) with soap and water for at least 20 seconds before and after sex.
"Don't mate until we allow you so again!"
Kissing can easily pass the virus. Avoid kissing anyone who is not part of your small circle of close contacts.
"No displays of affection! That would increase closeness between two-, I mean, that would spread corona!"
Make it a little kinky. Be creative with sexual positions and physical barriers, like walls, thatallow sexual contact while preventing close face to face contact.
"Be degenerate! Visit a glory hole, fuck in isolated places, but for Marx's sake, DO NOT MAKE LOVE!"
Pregnancy:Reproductive health services—as well as fertility services, prenatal care and cancer screenings –are considered essential servicesand are available in all five boroughs. Providers may be able to help you without an in-person visit.
"And if the worst happens and you get a child, we will murder it for free!"
