China Wuhan Virus Pandemic

Extra $5 charge if you place an order while wearing a mask or bragging about getting vaccinated (proceeds going to charity)!

And half off for throwing your mask in the trash? That seems ripe for exploitation.
Lmao, actually fucking retarded.

Ignoring health risks and sanitation and the inevitable shutting down by local council, what's the average price of a disposable mask? $0.30? There abouts? If you're vaccinated, literally no downsides, just throw that away and job's good. Depends if throwing away the mask counts to the $5 ordering fee.

Also, like, cannot stress this enough, absolutely fucking moronic business strategy. Would probably do well in Florida tho

Based on their website, which has a highly successful GoFundMe based on T-shirts about how much they hate masks, I'd say it's a publicity stunt that's paying off. It's probably losing money on the restaurant side but building them clientele and getting donations, and the clientele may continue to eat at Fiddleheads after they end the mask campaign so you need to look at it as advertising/clientele building rather than just reducing the cost of burgers. Clever advertising at that, since they're triggering the outrage machine into advertising for them.

Why though? Most of the masks that people wear don't work. The N95 masks aren't even guaranteed to work. If you want to see how effective your mask is, try blowing air through it at a lit match or lighter. If the flame moves or is extinguished, your mask won't stop the spread of the China virus.

I always wondered in Zombie movies why people don't wear basic protective equipment to protect themselves from bites. It seemed like plot induced stupidity...

But if scientists ain't bothering...

Should a zombie outbreak ever happen (with how often the China Virus mutates you never know), go raid a motorcycle shop for gear. That stuff is designed to protect you against serious road rash and I can personally attest that after slipping on ice and skidding for some several dozen meters, beyond some bruising and tenderness, I was good to go.

Video on how the Pandemic is creating shortages that are being accelerated by the recovery.

Long story short... misapplied Just In Time Manufacturing principles created all of these knock on effects thanks to the Pandemic but not because of it. The Pandemic is merely what exposed the flaws in today's high tech supply chains, manufacturers and economies.

The solution to that is to bring the supply chains closer to home and simplify them.

Its already happening.

Ugh, again? what is it with China and their fucking diseases..
First a willingness to eat things that westerners see as horrible.

This is coupled with a "traditional medicine" that favors eating/smearing yourself with body parts from all sorts of random wildlife that's almost all harvested unethically and thus has zero safety measures or precautions involved. Finally, traditional "Wet Markets" where food is bought usually have all the raw meat unwrapped and piled on tables or sometimes in buckets on the ground, doing nothing to prevent cross-contamination on a grand scale.

Coupled with massive corruption on all levels so that what safety laws exist are usually ignored for a small bribe, it leads to a less than hyper-sanitary world. Now China's not the only nation with these problems, however China suddenly catapulted itself into superpower status over the last couple of decades which means much more travel in and out, spreading diseases that would otherwise have been localized, and much more money to import body parts from across the world as either delicacies or components in "Traditional Chinese Medicine" which thus draws in germs from animals all over the planet that can be spread more easily.
