Well, they can breathlessly applaud it because since their brains don't work they do not need to breath.
All the talk about a female and/or Black James Bond died a sudden death about a year or two ago. I think the "money men"/financiers behind the movies basically put their foot down, and the studios/producers are pouting.
These people are there to make a profit from their investment, not pander to ideological bullshit.

Oh, they (as in directors and studios and writers) will keep trying to push it, but until the financiers change their collective mind (which is never going to happen because they like money), it's never going to happen.
They're the real power behind Bond's movies (the books, not so much, given what literary diarrhea is coming out now).

Let's face it- Hollywood is almost dead. The entertainment mainstream industry has lost billions. The woke idiots in the industry (Kathleen Kennedy was given an all but indestructible franchise and look at it now) have ruined once-beloved franchises, turned more than half their audience into enemies, and are surely destroying everything. It is obvious that no amount of failure, no amount of money lost, is ever going to deter the politically correct from continuing down the same ruinous path until there is nothing left but ash and dust.
Therefore the industry big shots, the studios and investors and shareholders, want to get rid of those idiots and this strike will give them an opportunity to do so. No doubt they are trying to figure out how to do this while diverting the stupid wrath of the woke protesters away from themselves.

It could work if the film had a sudden plot twist confirming the bond-is-a-codename-not-an-individual fanon. The former secret agent who got fired for thoughtcrime and started a conspiracy to take their country back? That's the current bond's immediate precursor.
Can see something happening like what occurred at the end of one of the Borne movies. Where Borne is on top of the building and is confronted a newer version of himself. One that chooses NOT to shoot him.

Every Bond is meant to be the same Bond/character, despite the obvious issues with that -- the trauma of his personal life, such as the death of his wife, his adopted family, even Alec T'/006, are also hinted at/mentioned in different films decades down the line (the recent Casino Royale, for an example, has a line about his dead wife and Craig being thoughtful/sad about it for a few moments).
The Codename Theory was just made by people to try to explain the real-world discrepancies (such as real-life chronology), as well as other positions in-universe like M being codenames/positions.
All Dungeons and Dragons characters (and players) before were very stable geniuses.

Hopefully there'll be a special character condition where if your neurodivergent you get disadvantage to sound based attacks or something. Make it mandatory for any players you suspect are a bit autistic... it'll help them feel validated and included. ❤️

If anything, D&D players are as neurotypical as they've ever been. D&D has gotten to the point where even Southern conservative normies play it. That's where we are at in 2023.
