Yeah, she was ditzy eye candy and liked by audiences because she had a heart of gold. But that was her role. Masterson is 60 years old. Unless her role transitions to grandmotherly matriarch there's really not much for her to go to. Unless she wants to play the 25th century equivalent of the cat lady. Social justice? Meh her comments seem pretty blandly progressive. Bringing social justice to Ferenganar... It's a roll eyes comment but I mean I'm not sure what else her character would be? She was meant to be a mild subversion in character and relationships and she is right that her characters role, as minor as it was, did play out well enough.

She was working off of the comments of the other two as well it seemed who both seemed only interested in returning to the role only if they were going to bring something new to the canon. And unlike the other two apparently offered an idea of substance even though it was mildly cringe with the social justice commentary.

Certainly far worse celebrity comments have been made by more prominent individuals on more significant platforms.

If she just said she'd see herself as changing things on Ferenganar or not compromising with Ferenganars current society despite living there or somesuch and not mentioning social justice it'd probably be more palatable since it'd run with her character being independent and capable of growth instead of some social revolutionary.

I'd be less vexed if you could make similar post-apocalyptic stories about other groups instead of poor marginalized Trans types.

Because having Men running around even more feral then usual sounds like potentially delightful fun. Just requires more effort to tame and train them then previously needed. Perfect setting for a marginalized Tradcon female focused apocalyptic fiction.

Because the fruits, nuts, mentally ill, and utterly deranged have basically hijacked it all, while gaining hordes of sycophants to pander to them, which include easily impressionable teenagers (let's face it: All of the teenage trans-trenders would have been goths, or punks, or any of the other subcultures seen even ten, twenty years ago).
