The next James Bond is really going to be black?

There are rumors and claims that the new "James Bond" is a black women, but nothing substantial or official has come out about it aside from rumors, so I'm calling BS at the moment.

Of course, I put the name in caps up there because we haven't had an actual James Bond on film since Die Another Day, and I frankly couldn't care less who they cast to play the next thinly veiled Jason Bourne rippoff.

From what I’ve seen, the actress isn’t even good looking

And? Like, you know this was the film series that cast Rodger Moore as Bond, right? And as much as I love those movies, I'm reasonable sure that even by 70s standards Moore still looked more like a door to door vacuum cleaner salesman than a super sexy super spy.

I would agree that The Last Jedi was partially ruined by SJW'isms but even without them, it would've still been a pretty bad movie thanks to all of the fake subversion nonsense and uninspired sets and horrible all around plot and leaps of logic and the like.
If you accept that The Last Jedi is iconoclastic, and our heroes - all of them - are fuckups, most of the issues except the hyperspace ass ram go away. Except Phasma, whose really a waste of Gwendoline Christie. She's a cardboard cutout villain.

The problem is that many commenters do not want to admit that Leia, Holdo, Rose and Rey fucked up as often and as bad as Finn, Poe, Luke, etc. So they have to twist themselves up in bullshit to avoid having to admit a woman was wrong.

I just can’t help but somehow feel, looks like a dude

Well, not as bad looking as Brie Larson....somehow guys on our sister sites and FFN find her hot

She's a "strong" woman. Saying she's not sexy would be sexist. It also proves your a Nazi because you only dislike the charecter. Because your an "alt right" shitlord or something to that effect.

There’s also repeatedly going on about how the CM costume unlike the MM one covers everything below the neck and stuff about “skintight” and covers all the right places

Then again, I do on occasion see praises for this costume on FFN and our sister sites

I was completely determined to watch the movie as a gesture of respect to Carrie Fisher, but after the way seeing The Force Awakens three times had made me go from happiness to a complete sense of "meh", I waited two weeks into the theatrical run... And by then I knew enough about the movie that I have not actually watched it. Me. The Star Wars nerd who was posting on ASVS in the late 90s and had the full WEG RPG collection as a teenager. I have now not seen TLJ and Solo. When I waited in line for the midnight showing of Revenge of the Sith. I just no longer care. That's what TLJ did, it finished off my love for the franchise.

It says something when people liked the Prequels more than both TFA&TLJ

Guess the later mostly has on the Prequels is the lack of loads of awkward lines and scenes and has more action and no horrible CGI

I think we’ll all come back to these franchises later on, as soon as the WOKE age is over or really toned down

Plus if it helps, there’s loads of old books, comics, cartoons, anime and games and manga you can catch up on. Bonus, you don’t even have to wait for the new release.

It’s partially the WOKE age which made me decide to go and start reading the stories of old and maybe long dead writers like Robert E. Howard and Isaac Asimov

I started with Herbert, so I don't really mind, but Kevin J. Anderson sort of ruined Dune too.

For me if it’s not written by the original author, then I can say it’s NOT canon

The only Conan books I’m reading are by Robert E. Howard, the rest are fanfiction

Though this may eventually vary for me for other series/settings by different authors

Say, I’ve heard this speculation before, but anybody believe that if Marvel/DC COMICS were to fall that the Indie Comicbook Industry would follow?

Supposedly, the problem is that most comics that are being sold and where most comics are being bought are in the Comicbook Stores which themselves have problems selling the woke-ified comics and are occasionally over-shipped and have to pay regardless

D&C said that since most come looking for Marvel/DC they only notice the Indies by chance

Also, if the comicbook stores fall anyway, ALL those comicbook companies would be in trouble

Well in the first place, individual comicbooks are like $4.99 for 20-25 pages of varying quality, whereas Japan’s individual manga chapters/issues are sold in BIG texts where you can see even new series or oneshots for free as it goes with the rest of the text

The prices for digital copies are also sort ot expensive even if they don’t have the same relatively expensive paper

@Captain-General, you sadly missed some good and bad stuff.

I loved the Kylo Ren/Rey lightsaber duel with Snoke's guards, though I admit it's a whole lot better remixed to Britney Spears' Toxic.

I liked the whole Luke screwing up and trying to slice and dice lil Benny Solo, and that driving him to the dark side. It's the first time Star Wars has done a villain backstory that's not cardboard cutout or fallen flat. It felt realistic, both with screwing up parenting and people being bad at teaching.

Plus, hey, crusty cantankerous old Luke is pretty good. Some people do run and hide, just like losing a kid - or having them go bad - does bust up marriages, as it did with Han and Leia. Plus, watching Kylo get smacked around by Luke's illusion and youth and skill losing to old age and treachery is just sweet.

There was the traditional lack of CAP in Star Wars, but hey, how many TIEs died in the tubes of the Death Star, and how many X-wings never bounced Vader until the Falcon showed up? Shitty fighter tactics is pretty much a Star Wars requirement.

Poe et. al's reaction to Holdo's complete lack of leadership and dogmatic holding to Josh Lyman's Super Secret Plan to Stop Inflation is also realistic. We've all run into people like that. And, frankly, many of us do exactly what Poe did, just better and less overtly. Poe's Finnshipping is hella cute in a dorky sort of way. And how many times does Finn get tazed is hilarious.

So there's some potential. I liked it in the theater, because I got into it, and that covered up a lot of the sins. But the holes become apparent when you're out of the theater and can analyze. Were that it, you'd watch it, grab the fast forward button for the silly bits, and enjoy what's there to be had.

It's all the political bullshit around the film that wrecked it.

Luke trying to murder the kid, even for a moment counts as Character Assassination on the likes of Stannis having his own daughter burned alive, that’s the sort of OOCness I see guys like my old PM buddy on FFN X0II0X never forgiving and getting quick to see and point out as horrible

And somehow Holdo’s considered to be completely in the right in the end and has no one calling her out on not even telling a plan that everybody else was going to be in on anyway

Webcomics are booming. Yeah, some are woke as hell, and others very retrograde, and everything in between. It's at the point where some, at least, can be full-time cartoonists, making their living off books, merchandise, and Patreons. So pieces of the industry will survive if the big names become unreadable. Especially if the indies capitalize, and push out what the consumers want.

Many comicbook stores are already diversifying, pushing out into other geekdom hobbies, like tabletop gaming, card gaming, and the rest. If anything, direct mail and web downloads will hurt them more than anything, since the comic book stores are heavily dependent on people buying their merchandise there.

It's fan loyalty that keeps them afloat, just like people keep gaming stores afloat because of the physical nexus to game, and then you impulse buy.

Somehow, I’m pretty sure whatever Woke Elements will try taking control of this means of distribution, like making it so that you can’t get funding on Patreon on the basis of a bunch of accusations of being a NeoNazi

Fan Loyalty....that explains our sister sites

Is it wrong that I hope even Books get replaced with digital or are sold more on Kindles than in physical copies?

Hell, I think people being able to download books or lessons online is what will help unshackle people off whatever possible indoctrination both public and private schools and colleges may make

Alongside reducing taxation for that stuff and allowing kids access to useful education quick and cheap and possibly from an earlier age

Seen it happen way too many times in real life to think it implausible.

And somehow Holdo’s considered to be completely in the right in the end and has no one calling her out on not even telling a plan that everybody else was going to be in on anyway
She got called on it, big time. She had a mutiny, and then a shootout, and then the leaders of the mutiny absolutely forgiven by the C-in-C while Holdo got to kamikaze. Hell, to fix Holdo's fuckup, they had to pull the C-in-C out of the fucking medbay to retake the bridge. Only Leia's presence fixed the absolute breakdown in command.
