Warhammer Warhammer General discussion thread: Now with 100% more Space Marines

So far plot armour has kept him safe, but the reality is that while the Tau's Presence is insignificant, once one is spotted or singled out by a powerful Chaos entity, a human baby has better mental defences/chances against corruption.
Actually, in this case, Farsight's strength of will is proving sufficient to the task. Even when pressed severely by the Warp to succumb.

What about Kais, from the book Firewarrior?
Huh?

Was that the old tau shooter?

Anyway, I got Boltgun, it is tons of fun, and fairly cheap even without the Steam summer sale discount.

Easily one of the best "boomer" shooters I have played, even though they should more properly be called Gen.Xer shooters or something.
I'd definitely recommend it if you like "boomer" shooters!

Now, onto other matters, has anyone played Darktide and is it good/post-launch debugged?

I saw some very mixed reviews on Steam, MataCritic and OpenCritic.

Buy or pass?

Reminds me of /tg/'s Chesed, Chaos God of Hierarchy and Tyranny. If nothing else, enslaved versions of other god's daemons are a neat idea for a troop choice.

Huh; seems Chesed and Luddredd would get along quite well compared to the other Dark Gods.

Of course... by Chaotic standards, "quite well" is probably more akin to how Hitler and Stalin got along. Both were totalitarian, mass-murdering autocrats who made allies of convenience (read: jointly invading Poland), but still quietly schemed and plotted against each other along the way — at least, before one inevitably turned on the other. Chesed and Luddredd would have much the same dynamic, I think, with any "non-aggression pact" they sign bound to end in backstabbing and all-out hostilities.

Pretty sure that's Malal/Malice, though?

Granted, I suppose Malal's kind of in canonical "limbo" (due to the weird IP dispute between the character creator and Games Workshop), but Malice (now a minor Chaos God) still exists and is as evilly spiteful as can be.
Yeah, that's pretty much Malal's domain -- the aspect of Chaos being Chaos and turning on itself.

In which case, I guess the biggest reason he's not powerful enough to seriously rival the other four is because of the IP dispute neutering him. Kinda' unfortunate, really, as Chaotic infighting and Chaos's own self-destructive tendencies probably would elevate Malal to (if not beyond) their level otherwise.

I don't see how Chaos infighting could increase Mala's power.

The big 4 get their power from mortals, feeding on big picture concepts/emotions/souls.

Well, the chaos worshipers are mortals, so infighting would generate juice for Malal.
Same goes for other stuff that is purely chaotic, like random nasty shit happening.

We don't exactly have much lore on Malal, but I think that it is not impossible that it can syphon off energy from its bredren since it is a chaos god of chaos.

Like one abstract concept or feeling flowing into another.

IIRC Malal was the god of revenge of the powerless.
Chaos warband rides through your village, rapes your dog and eats your daughter. There is nothing you could do stop it. You beg the gods for help. Help does not come. You beg the gods for a chance at retribution. In your desperation, hate, fury you stake your soul and at this point simply any god will do. And a god just might be listening ...

I was gonna say this was the wrong way around, but then I remembered it's Chaos. :ROFLMAO:

So was I, LOL! 😁

Anyhow, any more Chaos Gods who probably exist, but are rarely heard from and don't have much of a role to play in galactic affairs? Kinda' encompasses fan-made gods whose existence you could make a reasonable argument for, even if GM doesn't officially recognize them.

For instance, found an interesting one fan-imagining of what the Chaos God of Hopelessness might be like:
