Turkish-backed attack on Armenia by Azerbaijan with formal declaration of War

Hard to invoke Article V if your not engaged in self defense but participating in the gangbang of another country as co-belligerent aggressor. Article V of NATO references Article 51 of the UN Charter which states:

“Nothing in the present Charter shall impair the inherent right of individual or collective self-defence if an armed attack occurs against a Member of the United Nations, until the Security Council has taken measures necessary to maintain international peace and security. Measures taken by Members in the exercise of this right of self-defence shall be immediately reported to the Security Council and shall not in any way affect the authority and responsibility of the Security Council under the present Charter to take at any time such action as it deems necessary in order to maintain or restore international peace and security.”

You know, I wonder what Russia's going to want if they get into direct combat with Turkey.

Russia stands to loose quite a bit if they act too strongly. Stomp on Azeris and their relationship with Turkey and Azerbaijan takes a dive. Do too little / nothing and the collective defence treaty that have that includes Armenia is proven worthless.

So one must wonder who benefits from the whole shebang, and thus who could have engineered the whole thing, yes?

Control of the Bosphorus and Dardanelles, same thing they have always wanted out of any conflict with the Turks

The ones selling all the guns?

The Turks are saying 'prove it' to the Armenians, which if it was shot down over Armenian territory you'd think they'd do.

It might just be an accidental crash from malfunction during heightened operations.

Either could be possible. It's not like Erdogan has been proven to be risk-averse.

looks like Azerbaijan using lots of UAV with great effect destroying Armenian anti-air and tanks.

and allegedly group of armenian soldiers get abandoned :

Are they crashing the drones themselves into the tanks? Those feeds look too slow for missiles. But I know nothing of such things.

They're probably IAI Harops or other loitering munitions. Azerbaijan has used them in the past. Modern equipment of the Azerbaijani Air Force

Oh wow. Completely missed out on that.

Are they cost effective to use? Reading the Wiki entry... It looks like it costs 10-15 million a drone?

I mean if Turkey is supplying them something similar sure... But is it something Azerbaijan can afford to dispense for anything beyond the immediate short term?
