I actually use, and I know this is going to make me sound like a massive hipster, a safety razor.

Start up costs are a little expensive, but I’ve been shaving with one for a year and I’m still on the pack of blades my razor came with.

I went with a company called Viking Blades. They’re headquartered in Australia and, as far as I’m able to deduce, aren’t owned by a company that has shown outright disdain for its customer base and they haven’t made any egregious social media posts.

Haven’t used any of their shaving soaps or oils yet, I had a stock of both from my cartridge razor days, but I’ve been very happy with the quality of their razor.

Not sponsored or affiliated with them in any way. I’m just a fan.

They also have an online storefront that you can buy from, instead of going through the amazon middleman.

The learning curve on safety razors can be harsh, the motion with it is different to the cartridge razors, so I’d stick with more mild blades when you’re starting out.

Less chance of coming out of a shave looking like a feral cat took great offense towards your face.

But once you get the hang of it, I find it to be a much more enjoyable experience.

But I also had awful problems with razor burn and ingrown hair when I was using the cartridges, which the safety razor fixed for some reason.

So I might be a little biased.

I tried Harry's, but the problem I had with them were that the blades clogged up with my hair and were a lot harder to clean out than my old Gillette Mach 3, and the head has so much space around the blades that I can't quite get all the hairs up under my nose.

Defend razors. They have a little space between the blades to they don't get clogged up with hair. Which is why I used to use mach 3, but these Actually have more space and are even better.

I also have sensitive face skin that gets razor bumps easily. These don't do that.

I use Dollar shave club for everything but the razors lol. They make great deodorant, Shampoo, body wash, shave butter, after shave balm and even a nice hair pomade.

It occurs to me that the razor and general boycotting talk might be a little off topic.

Hey, @Battlegrinder , can we split this off to a different thread?

It seems related enough to the main topic that I'd rather not, but you can put in a report or staff coms thread for the other mods to look it over and decide if it should be split up.

Okay, cool. Wasn’t sure if the razor talk would be considered a detail or not, and thought it best to make sure.

Thanks man!

I just use a beard trimmer. They last for years and they do what I actually want.

Though I did learn to how to shave with a straight razor, which is a close shave if you keep the blade sharp.

I use clippers to maintain the beard (I keep it between #4-#6 clippers) and the defend razors to shave the neck line.

Sometimes in a pinch I just use the clippers to clean up the neck line, but I like it real clean the way only razors can do

Maybe there could be a kind of general "non-woke products" thread of sorts? We only really started talking about razors because of Gillette being woke and looking for alternatives, but the same could apply to any number of things people might want to find alternatives for. 🤷‍♂️

I've thought about that, but I'm not quite brave enough. Plus I'd probably need to start using shaving soap or cream, and I can get by with the Mach 3 by just wetting my face with water. The Defend razor looks promising, though.

On a slightly different note, what with the recent 60 minutes interview hilariously backfiring on the media, what do you all make of DeSantis's chances of being the 2024 nominee? I see no reason why Trump wouldn't name him his successor. The man has shown his spine in refusing to lockdown when the rest of the world went mad and is apparently a loyal Trumpian.

To top it all of, he's decent at public speaking, young in political terms, and knows how to engage in politicking.

I don't trust him yet. For all we know, the demorats and cuckservatives are already hard at work to subvert him.

Assuming voting even matters anymore, and that's a big if, It's Trump or nothing for me. I really don't care about compromising anymore, there is nothing left to really give at this point. If we are to lose and enter the supposed utopian dark future envisioned by the left and seen in left controlled areas, then so be it.

DeSantis can run next time.

I expect "fortification" to increase though

I'd vote Desantis, but I mostly agree with you. I don't care for compromise any longer, and I'm not even as far right as most of this forum. But This have no desire to compromise with these democrat weasels.
