Things get worse in The Southwest

California’s Environmentalist Democrats Force Children to Swim in Diluted Sewage

E. coli levels at beaches are supposed to be at 88 or below, and anything over 1,000 is supposed to lead to a beach closure. At 500, there’s a 10% chance of gastroenteritis and a 4% risk of febrile respiratory disease. But at Discovery Park, the numbers went as high as 2419.6 in December 2019.

The E.coli levels had climbed so high that labs could no longer even properly measure them.

Discovery Park is a convenient getaway for Sacramentans. More recently however, visitors describe mountains of trash, waste, and needles. “Don't walk, wade or swim without shoes, used needles have been strewn throughout the park,” one Californian wrote. “I found crack heads, hookers, and crazy people screaming obscenities and throwing punches at anyone who came too close,” another described.

There is actually some method behind the madness.

You see currently when ever we try to do anything to fix the homeless problem California's extreme left wing stops by to get in the way. Not to help of course but to get in the way. So were basically letting the homeless off the chain and having it affect the limozine socialists enough that they keep their mouths shut the next time theirs a push to fix things.

Incoming higher taxes.

Are they gonna repeal any other laws for this?

I’m reminded of Tim Pool’s saying about how these sorts of laws are bandages

Thing is you replace them when they get rotten and you don’t cover a wound in multiple bandages

Not until people scream bloody murder. Just look at the fracas over AB5, which unilaterally turned all independent contractors into employees, with all the requirements that go with it. It was a major torpedo in the screws for a LOT of people, while completely avoiding the actual target - issues with companies like Uber.

Any independent contractors actually complain and say they didn’t want to become full time employees?

Lots, especially content creators.

But, again, the bill’s authors and sponsors did not understand - or care - what it would do when actually put into practice. CA has a lot of that at the state government level.

I’m guessing they act or got some independent contractors to show up and act as if they really wanted/needed it and were feeling mega exploited.

It’s like ironically NOT wanting a Union because you know you can easily be replaced and if the Union gets what it wants at the time, it’d more incentivize the companies to use cheaper labor or hire less employees or use more automation or switch to using illegals.

They’d have more bargaining power if they(current workers)were more valuable or not so easy to replace

No, it was poorly written legislation thought up to address problems with Uber. How much were actual problems vs. out of touch liberal politicians making a name for themselves addressing what they read in the papers I will leave up to you.

But the AB5 author is now trying to force insurance companies to insure houses in fire prone areas at very low rates, so I doubt she’s the sharpest tool in the drawer when it comes to understanding how the economics work in the real world.

I literally grew up watching peoples utopian plans blow up in our faces over and over again.

Its why I'm a little on the cynical side.
Increasingly, I don’t think these plans are anything but window-dressing. The point is to make the well-off people who support and propose them feel good about themselves, not actually solve problems. That is why they don’t really care if they actually work.

There’s a major problem, even if it doesn’t work so well or it backfires horribly, they can keep going on as if YOU who are against this are an EVIL moron who doesn’t want the poor to be lifted out of poverty or for things to be safe

Of course. You can't judge them on their results, only their intentions (or what they say are their intentions).

So what if they wreck the economy or cost jobs or waste time and money! They were only trying to help! How could you ever oppose trying to help you monster!

It's a bit of a double standard though.

So what if the economy is doing great or unemployment is at record lows or optimism is at a all time high! Republicans are all evil and racists and basically nazis! How could you ever support them you monster!

I'm pretty sure they will deny that the economy is doing good, all they have to do is go on about how poverty and corruption and crime is rampant in inner-cities and go on about it being your fault and specifically look at the poorest of minorities

Plus, unless poverty is wiped out in its entirety, not everybody will notice if there are somewhat less homeless or poor around

Not being so educated in economics beyond the very basics of supply & demand as well as ONLY seeing statistics which they can shrug off and maybe not really even hanging around poor people so much or actually having big pictures of things combined with their politics means that again, they can brush it off

Also, say that it's NOT Trump or current policies responsible for any improvements. Plus, it may vary from area to area.
