How well do the people in the big cities and the surrounding towns get along?

For the most part actually pretty well.

Most people here aren't actually insane communists and are able to get along with people. Seriously the state wouldn't function at all if our people were as corrupt and crazy as the people in charge. The thing is most people here are pretty apathetic about local and state politics and dont really pay attention unless shit seriously hits the fan.

I guess they're also kinda like those in our Sister Sites, unless modern day Left-Right Politics are mentioned, they stay on topic, are kind of goofs and are pretty nice and reasonable people

Probably can also say that the stuff regarding crazy homeless people and illegal immigrants' overblown due to not being near the centre or seeing it much themselves

The illegal immigrant thing Is mostly a problem in two areas, the rural areas and urban inner cities. If you live in suburbia or outside the cores it really doesn't affect you that much.

The homeless problem is not like that, even the small Podunk towns have massive problems, there isn't a city here that doesn't have people on street corners asking for money, and a lot of them are not native Californians. New York gets a bad rap for making their homelessness problem our problem and they deserve that bad rap but other states do it to us too.

And there is a lot of anger about that.
