Seahawks-49ers game was a drama-infused battle if ever there was one. After a first quarter where the 49ers were in control the entire time (and this girl somewhat sighed and readied herself for an unfortunate showing of the Seahawks under pressure) there was a rebound, a whole mess of turnovers (on both sides), things ended up going into overtime, and at least three different times where it looked like one team was going to end up winning an interception or a missed kick spat things back into play. Real nail-biter and real entertaining to watch.

Today's Steelers vs Browns game was interesting. I slept through most of it, but I woke up just in time for the fun part.

Yeah. That got pretty rough. It gets even rougher when you remember that the Steelers Quarterback, Mason Rudolph, suffered a head injury last month. Word is that this is the worst brawl in the NFL's history, and Miles Garrett is going to face a record suspension for it.

It was like some of the games six years ago when the 49ers could pretend to actually be good...

I think most Browns fans are happy they can at least win a fight.

So according to a graphic put up on the screen during the Vikings-Broncos game... teams have been 0-99 when down by 20+ points at halftime over the past five years.

Thankfully, the Broncos defense was extremely charitable and participated in helping the Vikings offense score on every possession in the 2nd Half and allow us to snap that streak!

Which is a relief because the Broncos Offense was just absolutely on point that day. Thankfully, even without a run game, Kirk Cousins decided to earn his weekly paycheck and win this game for the Vikings. In fact this was basically a passing game with the Broncos especially having five great passing plays that were decisive in almost... almost winning the game. It did go down to the last pass with two seconds left in the Red Zone and so above all else, it was a game worth watching.

Dropping facts on Colin Kinte's Workout.

There was a good suggestion. He could always of gone to the CFL if the NFL slavemasters won't work with him. :sneaky:

So anyone have any reactions to the college and pro games of this past weekend.

Poor Minnesota lost Paul Bunyans axe to the dirty Badgers. On the plus side it's always great seeing an outdoor college football game taking place amidst the falling sleet and snow.

Uh... If you put together all the games I've sat halfway through, I've probably watched three games over the past week. It's been busy. I've seen some good plays and some awesome saves, but nothing that really stands out.

No, wait, there was this really good fight that broke out in the endzone, but I can't remember what game it was. Damn. The players are going to get punished for it because sportsmanship and we can't have this kind of conduct on the field, but I kind of like it. It saves time when I can watch a football game and a boxing match at the same time.

I have always somewhat absently wondered why the NFL doesn't do as the NHL does (at least...by my understanding and by reputation) and offer some limited degree of acceptance for roughousing. Not to 'hitting each other with helmets' levels because...wow Cleveland. Wow...But penalizing scuffles and limited fisticuffs with penalty-box sitting for a set amount of time where the team he's on is also penalized by having to sub in a second-string person for the position (since I don't think removing a player would be at all fair in football...though now I'm curious as to the possibility). But maybe it's just outright more dangerous in football when there isn't the instability of ice-skates making it harder to wind up for a punch (as far as I know, maybe hockey players solve that issue).

Managed to catch the Seahawks-Viking game, and the final score does a decent job of telling how back-and-forth things were. Seahawks looked pretty rough through the first half (why must they do this? It's like their NFL hat), then had an amazing third quarter, only to have the tables turned in the fourth to turn it back into a nail-biter. Plus, I got to see the return of the fun trick-play, as Seattle got a 20 or 30 yard run out of a fake-punt, and that style of play always just amuses me.

According to Wikipedia, fighting in hockey isn't just traditional, it's ritualized. There's an unwritten code of etiquette that players aren't supposed to break that prohibits enforcers from fighting injured players.

I think the biggest obstacle is that fighting between hockey players is civilized. There is an expectation that you fight fair, even if you lose. In America, we love dirty fighters, and we hate it when we lose.

Maybe we could get fighting and sparring to take off in the minor leagues? The major leagues probably don't want million dollar players risking injury in a brawl.

Lucky. I don't get ESPN, so I had to listen to the game over the radio. It's just not the same.

Yeah it was a rough weekend for Minnesota football.

But the Vikings-Seahawks game was great to watch, just like the one the previous week where the Vikings game back from that 20 point deficit against the Broncos. The fake punt was a great play... and made all the sweeter by them losing the ball via turnover a few plays later. The Vikings had the opportunities for a come back and it made for an exciting game.

Nice to have a (largely) stress free Vikings win with a comfortable 39-10 victory. Even better that they pulled late in the game since early blowouts aren't fun to watch in the long term.

As a Cardinals fan I think it behooves me to take this opportunity to thank the Seachickens for giving us the opportunity to kick their ass with a backup quarterback that you so generously let us have.

Settling in to watch the 49ers-Hawks game.
I missed in all the Christmas visiting that Lynch came back to the team? When did that happen? I'm 'cited, but kinda worried dude might be older and off the game.

Cardinals or Seahawks, AFC or NFC, let there be much rejoicing around the nation, for the Patriots are no longer in the playoffs and everybody hates the Patriots. For one instant yesterday, everyone was a Titans fan. :p

Though...I gotta say, they need to fix that intentional delay-of-game/false-start intentional clock-running BS the Titans pulled (and that the Patriots took advantage of earlier in the season, as I came to find out). While there's a certain karmic irony to Belicheck losing in such a way, nobody should get away with it. Playing referee-games and technicality-football makes things so much less fun.

Settling in to cross fingers through the Seattle-Eagles game.
It is very fun to see Marshawn Lynch back scoring touchdowns. Gives me a case of the nostalgias/cool-to-sees every time--can't quite describe it, but it's just a cool 'story', dangit!

Well, we just guaranteed that even if the Eagles beat us, Carson Wentz is once again missing their playoff run... I hope he's okay.
