Yeah, pretty much.
Kinda' counterintuitive, but I guess there's an ironic (and highly absurdist) sense of humor that goes into recreating characters' voices with AI and making them sing songs or deliver lines that'd be totally out-of-character for them.
Like I said, it gets way wackier than that. Case in point, for those who haven't seen the "Austrian painter sings!" parodies yet:
the painter always seems to be kinda shit for music. like it is a funny meme but the LQ recordings they use to sample his voice has terrible pitch for singing.
A shame they failed to capture his dulcet tones for the ages.The fact they're from the 1930s and '40s doesn't help, either, so there's definitely that.
