Nah, they are just as bad. They still hid the Hunter Biden story, they still censor covid information that doesn't meet the narrative, they ban Project Veritas videos and they do shadow bans where people don't see your posts.
They're just as bad as the rest.
What they have, is a more conservative user base. Mainly due to all the boomers on there who don't mess with other social media.
But they still do what they can to stifle the right. when actual important news comes around, they stifle it just like the others.
No I think Twitter for example is far worse. Twitter has cultivated a user base that has literally created new verbs and nouns circling around the idea of "Twitter 'xxx' Mobs." They're the ones that have led the charge in shadow banning and censorship and banning of wrong thinkers on their social media platform ranging from the New York Post's Hunter Biden story to numerous politicians from around the world, namely President Trump.
Facebook has done similar yes, but not to the scale or proportion that Twitter has. And Facebook has been
reactive to government pressure while Twitter has been proactive in their censorship. Keep in mind that Facebook has had
repeated in
house rebellions over their lack of
content moderation and scrutiny of largely "right wing" content. Nothing comparable has happened with Twitter as far as I know.
Lizard Person CEO Mark Zuckerberg has spoken before Congress on what he feels (and IMHO words I agree with) when it comes to Free Speech on Facebook and was excorciated for it by Congress, the Press and those Twitter Hate Mobs.
Twitter if it was a State would be the most liberal in the Union. Twitter is the primary news source for much of Black America. Twitter, by distilling dialogue into 140 characters and retweets and blue checkmarks has managed to ruin the dialogue and national conversation in the media faaaaaaaaaaaar more then Facebook, YouTube, WhatsApp, Instagram or whatever other social media one uses. And it does so knowingly and willfully.
I think Apple is almost in the same category, their handling of their Walled Garden in purging apps (which Google and Amazon (via servers) does as well) such as Parler and Apple as well as supporting groups like the SPLC on an official basis, and being the foremost advocate of more tech visas to displace US Tech Workers and shilling for China where they keep your information private on their Chinese servers and much, much more.
Google less so, but while YouTube still has some edge to it, thanks to activism from companies like Vox and the like, YouTube and it's community has been censored though just not as heavily as Twitter does. And like Apple they advance just as many progressive causes.
I'd actually put Facebook in the category of most of the corporations, in that they'll be just as woke as they need to be to the government and public to make more money. But I don't think they are as vociferously advocating the progressive agenda as much as Apple, Google and especially Twitter. I'd put them in the same category as Microsoft or Sony or even Netflix or whatever. Liberal or progressive in some respects, but still not to the degree of the above companies which want to engage in true social engineering and generational change bullshit on behalf of an actual liberal progressive agenda.
It might not be a big difference to you or whatever, but I think it's a distinction worth pointing out. Almost all of the Big Tech companies are bad, but some are still far worse then others. I would gladly take Facebook over Twitter a dozen times over. If Twitter was to disappear forever, the world in general would be incredibly better off for it. Far more then the removal of any of the other Big Tech or social media companies by far IMHO. Imagine a world where CancelCulture and Social Media Outrage doesn't have Twitter to fuel it. People would have to call or text or DM crap all over again instead of RT'd hashtag bullshit by verified blue checkmarks.
Without largely Twitter based hate mobs and a Congress that encourages crony capitalism for leftist causes in Big Tech, Facebook would just be another normal selfish megacorporation like Microsoft was. Twitter, Apple, Amazon and Google, what they are now is what they want to be and probably even worse.
I say this as a person who has barely ever used their Facebook account that it might as well be a cemetery but uses Twitter to RT BS by blue checkmarks regularly and uses basic ass YouTube as my main viewing channel and has an android phone.
