Speaking of FEV, any chance that the Enclave decided that they may as well do some Mad Science and make it so that people can have miniature Deathclaws as household pets?

Or would Nate think that’s too crazy and make laws banning the “2.5 Amendment” that states its okay for people to create extremely dangerous household pets

I'm a sucker for historical ironies, and I gotta say that internal political upsets in Texas becoming a flash-point for another war between North American states makes me somewhat giggly. Also, I dunnow if it's stuff you ran with or stuff established previously, but the little, relatively inconsequenital stuff like Seattle's name transitioning to Sea-Tac or the revival of Gran Colombia in South America does a lot for the setting feeling...familiar? Properly post-apocalyptic-y? Not even sure how to describe it, but I enjoy it.

Only passingly familiar with Fallout (one day I intend to fiddle around with the games. One day...when I have time...Oh sweet time), so can't speak to much there, but the variety of perspectives does well to give me a foot on the ground of the universe and solidly figure things out.
Though I'm given to understand there's a predecessor story of Autumn Morning? I'mma have to add that to the reading list as well now.

There was an interquel named “Tales Of New America”

It explains how the NCR has to a degree managed to catch up with the Enclave technologically speaking

Thank you! Autumn Morning is the fanfic that started all of this ... basically an AU of Fallout 4, with the divergence 10 years prior during the time of Fallout 3. I'm writing a director's cut right now, though progress on that is slower than I would like ... might think about doing a prequel set during the FO3 era.

One thing that's definitely suprised me is the sheer amount of worldbuilding I've had to do ... whether it's dealing with schizophrenic writing and characterisation, contradictory canon materials (esp. on the pre-atomic war era), or talking about areas where canon never ventured into.

Say @Navarro has there ever been a moment when both the Enclave and NCR, or mostly the NCR actually did truly sit down and talk and put out actual arguments and try to see things from one anothers perspective?

Because up till now, it looks like the NCR is operating on a constant instinct to verbally attack and see the Enclave as only being “The Enemy”

No arguments on things like trade or what would happen to their economies or whatever policies the Enclave actually has

Even Left-Right arguments in Western Politics have more knowledge over one anothers’ actions, beliefs and policies in comparison

Both sides see the other as "the Enemy" - it's entirely natural when there's so much bad blood. The chance to move past all that was lost when Autumn was shot at back in the 2280s and E-USA responded by bombing the Mojave.

I mean, there'd still be a high chance of full-scale war, but it wouldn't have become inevitable.

I mean, I haven't gone so much into NCR politics and foreign policy as I have for E-USA - I will in future.

Looking at this ... man, this is pretty grimdark for what's generally a glass-half-full fic. There was a chance for a peaceful resolution to this situation, but nobody realised it was there and so thoughtlessly threw it away ... and now the world's two most democratic nations are about to throw down in a no-holds-barred slugfest. But then Fallout is a pretty dark setting, so no surprise there.

Hopefully, all that rebuilding doesn't get destroyed in this coming war, I expect nuclear weapons to come to play

Say, how much of the world is still wasteland-esque? Dealing with crazy warlords, people scavenging and making tools out of old machinery, fighting off and/or being eaten by mutant animals, getting radiation sickness, getting horribly mutated, wasteland cults, tribes and bartering with goods and bottlecaps

Also, what happened to the chem trade? Did Autumn or Nate try banning large numbers of drugs to prevent addiction or something? Or they’re all produced in the hospital or medical companies

@Navarro
Kinda funny, but any chance that Radroach, Bloatfly, Mirelurk and other wasteland invertebrates are still a common food in Enclave territory?

Also, adding to the sorta funny, I'm thinking of Autumn and other Enclave-born people trying out the stuff wastelands eat to survive and going "Not that bad"

Before you ask, I went to China about a month ago, went to one of the market stalls and ate deep fried bugs

What got Nate to run office when he was hesitant on Autumn even giving him a position in the first place?

I mean, he was uncomfortable with the backroom deal aspect of it as he felt he hadn't truly earned the position, not with being involved in politics in general. He had already been one of Massachusetts' two Senators for decades when he decided to run for POTUS, after all.

Say, will there ever be a moment where he meets the NCR’s President face to face?

Somehow, I think they could realize that in another life, they could have been friends, and the latter’s not so bad in behavior

The Dornan IFV used by the E-USA, replacing the pre-War IFV they were using previously (seen in FO4):

Just replace the pintle MG with a gatling laser, paint it up in US Army olive drab/tan with one of those stars on the side, and you're good to go.

I like it, still kinda blocky and you have hatches that look sized for power armor in the back. So a gatling laser with something larger on the same mount like a upsized gauss rifle instead of an autocannon? On the topic of armor I noticed something when reading the latest chapter, the NCR MBT was taken out via anti-tank rocket. That would suggest the NCR vehicles are not outfitted with ERA and electro-reactive plates the US has standard. We saw those plates stop a similar attack cold in the Northern War interim chapters. Unless the NCR is sporting improved anti-tank warheads themselves the armored forces are in for a very rough time.

EDIT: @Navarro has the US completed that naval plan you put in Autumn Morning?
