I'm saying the time for being meek and weak is over. They just tried to use dead kids to once again destroy the constitution and the only thing that stopped them was the very real possibility that this dude was one of their precious ones.

Yes, the radical left is trying to use dead children to destroy the constitution and restrict the 2nd Amendment among other things. Yet you too are advocating for doing the exact same thing they are doing. You are advocating to cheapen the lives of nineteen children because you want a cudgel to lazily attack the radical left. No, I'm cheapening the lives of people who choose to cut their genitalia off, drug themselves and then inevitably have a hormone imbalance induced psychotic break. People who via self harm and inherent inclinations towards predation on children make their lives cheap.

I'm not advocating the use of dead kids to push policy, to advance an agenda or to argue for a cause. I'm leaving the innocent and the dead wholly out of this. And using a specific group of individuals who are the chosen ones of the very real forces of evil in this world.

No idea how this would play out. I think these vultures jumped on this as a distraction as much as an attempt to assault the constitution since those usually end with more states passing open carry laws.

The doubt about this guy's orientation and reasons and the fact that he's prolly the same ethnicity as most of the dead, might mean they want nothing to do with it.

Or they'll just double down.

Given that the shooter is dead, either it wasn't kelvar or the law enforcement agents that shot him were very good shots.

Wow. Schumer isn't even going to try and pass a bill strengthening background checks in the wake of this. Not because it would be useless and do nothing to address cases like this (which it would), but because he wants to use this to try and salvage the midterms for his party by acting like this wouldn't have happened if not for the GOP.

When this stunt fails and his party loses power this November, the Republicans should expell him from the senate for this (I'd add a "of he somehow wins reelection, but there's no way he'd actually face consequences for this behavior from his constituents). Using a national tragedy to try and pass a vaguely related agenda that wouldn't actually fix the issue is one thing, one thing that's already scummy. But refusing to act and then using that refusal as leverage to try and win an election? This man is beneath contempt.
