And I never disputed this...but all chronic illnesses ought to be taken seriously and mental illnesses are no different. It is a rational and healthy thing to hold someone with a violence prone disorder to a higher standard, both for their sake and your own.

The person who did this is evil but literally the first thing people start saying is mental health before they know literally anything about the guy. That’s a problem people can do evil crap for a variety or reasons so why is mental health the first thing out of people’s mouth any time this happens. Because violence and mental health are linked together in their minds and that doesn’t help anything.
