Star Wars Star Wars Discussion Thread - LET THE PAST D-! Oh, wait, nevermind

So apparently they're going to do a big crossover comic event thing that's going to involve their ongoing SW comics series... to tell the story of how Boba Fett got the carbo-frozen Hansicle to Jabba. While fighting competing bounty hunters who want to rob him of the prize.

In other words: the new continuity's version of Shadows of the Empire, with less multimedia-ness and more comic-ness.

I saw the Star Wars tweet on it and I thought they were reissuing Shadows of the Empire again based on the artwork.

I say suck up the hate and keep going

i am a fan of the Republic Commando series and Traviss mandos. I am used to hate
I loved the Republic Commandos game. The novels were cortosis compared to shit called the not High enough Republic.

I really wanted to see a movie or even a TV show about a clone commando squad doing kickass black ops mission in the clone wars (doesn't have to be the Deltas)

But alas, TCW killed all hope of anything like that and the clone commandos we got in TCW were peanuts thrown to placate the crowd. Gregor's rampage was pretty cool but it only lasted for 2 minutes.

Ah Traviss...way back when everybody hated her. Now, after everything Kennedy has done, all those haters suddenly realized they never knew how good they had it.
The haters still hate. Trust me, plenty of people that hated Traviss novels still hate them

It was damn good, and at least acknowledged they existed

Fan art made by Andres Bellorin, depicting Finn as a Jedi. It looks really cool, and shows just a little glimpse of what could have been, if the sequels had been made by people with... you know... creativity.

Instead, everybody wears pretty much the same outfit for three films, and character development is, uh... I'd say absent, but in several cases, it's outright negative. Character regression.

That makes me wonder if John Boyega and Daisy Ridley would have received a better reception if instead of playing SJW fantasy OCs, they instead got cast as the Hero of Tython and Kira Carsen respectively, in a film adaption of the Jedi Knight storyline of SWTOR. Which, as much as Imperial players like myself hate to admit, is probably the 'canon' storyline of SWTOR.

Which, back to the main point, could have satisfied the fandom while simultaneously sending the message of diversity that politics and social media these days demand at least a token nod to.

Or they could have done Jao Assam and Ania Solo from Star Wars Legacy's 2nd arc.

They didn't even play Vode An in the background.
What a shame I say, what a shame!
Eh, TCW Commando was aweasome

Isn't every story canon as they all take place at different times with the exception of the newest expansions? Since the stories all build on each other.
Like, in certain stories that Twi chancellor isnt Chancelor until the old one is killed/imprisoned by iirc the bonuty hunter. ETC ETC,
Or they could have done Jao Assam and Ania Solo from Star Wars Legacy's 2nd arc.
Legacy is overrated garbage!

It's an interesting idea, and I'd have liked it (provided they didn't totally muck up the story). But Disney would never go for it. I mentioned that yesterday, in another discussion: they bought LucasFilm with the intent of making SW sequels with the OT cast in them... while the OT cast was still around. They were always going to do that, and do it first. Nothing else was ever on the table.
