Hyperspace ramming a dumb, but I hadn't interpreted the Falcon insertion as the FO being hoisted by their own petard more than anything else. That Starkiller's shield was actually multiple shield systems that cycled rapidly enough to be practically impossible to batter down, and Han slipped in during a cycle.

Honestly I think that depends on how much the rumors that Bob Iger is looming over the top brass of SW like the grim reaper are.
This far The Mandalorian has probably been the most well received media since TFA, maybe even since the buyout. If the pressure to not lose money is really on as the rumors say then Kennedy and friends may not risk it.

Yeah. The moment Iger calculates in head that Kennedy's crusade of feminist progressivism via his companty's products is costing Disney more than bringing money in, Kennedy's toast and out faster than Millenium Falcon.

Yeah I'm glad that the Mandalorian is getting good reviews (including from fans and friends I know etc) even though I was kinda skeptical of it before it was released. It might motivate me to shill out for Disney Plus after all, but I'm still waiting for the whole season to be released before I sell my soul to Disney for at least one month. Still the popularity and quality of the Mandalorian does speak well for at least the television side of Star Wars... hopefully.

Well given the aforementioned rumors I was reading indicate the reason Ep 9 has gone into such extensive reshoots is because Iger near enough usurped control of the project from Kennedy after test audiences gave the version she approved a 29% approval rate I think thin Ice status is more or less a given.
Oddly enough, Last Jedi might end up being a good thing for Star Wars long term. Every property that's been acquired and then changed beyond all recognition has been done through a series of changes that are individually small enough to not appear to be worth getting angry about. By setting everything on fire Rian might actually have provoked enough fan rage all at once to make the Mouse consider backing off, at least for a while. Sure, we had to lose any hope of the ST being good to get it; but imagine if TLJ had just been another soulless corporate popcorn flick. They could've just kept making little changes starting in the comics and books and far fewer people would pay attention.

Like I said, the rumors I read said that Iger was willing to be hands off until the test audiences gave it a score worse than Phantom Menace got. They listen to the advisers not because they believe it but because the advisers manage (somehow) to make a case that the twitterlectual crowd represents actual market desires. Given what happened with Solo I personally can believe that Disney is extremely wary of dropping another poorly received Star Wars movie; a franchise can only survive so many poor showings and they didn't drop $4bn on the IP to get a handful of games and three movies worth of profit.

Honestly I don't even want them sacked so long as they get told in no uncertain terms to quit their shit and let people who know what the fuck they're doing have a go.
