You know, if Palpatine wasn’t established to have had kids in Disney Canon already, I feel like they’d have claimed he was gay all along, too. They did, after all, retroactively claim Tarkin for their movement, so it’s not much of a stretch as some might think. 🧐

All we had was Luke holding a hand and idknwhat they are even talking about with Obi-Wan
He was Inna relationship with Satine
Yeah, Satine and Ventress...Obi-Wan was straight.

Luke also had Mara, and a few others who didn't last in Legends.
WTF, LGBT Tarkin!?

Daala would like to have...words with whom ever put Tarkin on that list.

Edit: It's fucked, but at this point Daala feels smarter and less evil than some of the idiots running the SW franchise into the ground.

You're only realizing that now? I mean...Daala as President of the Galactic Federation was a nightmare, but had she been in charge in Disney canon, the First Order would have died in its crib and the events of the sequel trilogy would never have happened to begin with.

I hate how effective all this bullshit has been at lowering everyone's standards.

Basically what I said about Rey not being an outright Feminazi, yeah.

Nevertheless, I suspect @Bear Ribs is onto something when he says Disney’s slow-rolling instead of going all-in immediately. To me, it looks increasingly like the “Long March through the Institutions!” that’s been underway since at least the Fifties and Sixties is getting more and more conspicuous — even if the broader audience doesn’t recognize it as such, and remains content to roll its eyes and shake its head at Disney’s latest retcons instead.

Marxists happened I’d assume.

Fair.

The irony, of course, in Disney Mon Mothma's case, and her 'democracy doesn't need protecting' spiel caused something of a backlash as it sent the opposite message instead. That is, instead of a strong and inspiring leader, she instead reinforced the hard-right perception of female politicians (today, at least, I don't like Maggy 'the Witch' Thatcher, but I can respect her political success and historical legacy) as virtue signalers who don't know what they're talking about/pushing for.

Legends Mon Mothma would have been appalled.
