Being at the base doesn't mean attacks can't happen in combat areas. Indeed when actually facing an opposing nation with decent capabilities they're fixed targets

I actually don't oppose Iran having nuclear weapons, since I think it is only fair that they have the ability to defend themselves against hostile powers. The problem for me is if they will be responsible with the technology or not.

Countries like the Norks are out since they are dangerous and unstable.

I would be surprised if it's more than months between Iran getting a nuke and either Israel, the US, or both, sprouting mushroom clouds. If they do, it's probably WWIII.

Given that the Iranians don't want to eat a hundred or so warheads at the minimum if they hit either of those nations I do not think this is likely. Mind you I don't trust Iran as is and them having nukes seems like a recipe for disaster if for nothing else it forcing the Saudis and Eygptians into starting serious nuclear program
