Except lack of personal armour, and do not using thermobaric bombs/it would kill schield users by sucking oxygen/ or napalm/it would burn, and temperature would kill or main users/
i have another problem -
Dr.Yui disabled schields, communication, and take prince Leto. Not possible. He have no time for all of that.
In book he only disable schield and take prince Leto.Hard to achieve, but possible.

My biggest problem is that he was able to do it at all. It's the single weakest point to me in the plotting of the downfall of Duke Leto.

Indeed.Even if that was only one place to storm, and prince Leto do not have bodyguard ,then Yui is kind of supersoldier, who should be capable of wiping mere Harkonnen soldiers guarding baron and kill him.

No he isn't Suk doctors like Yueh were trained to be extremely good at medicine and to be conditioned not to betray you.
Soldiers they are not.
Some mentats can fight reasonably well, since mentat assassins were a thing.
But Suk doctors - not really.

Which is exactly why Yui could not attack schield generator, comm center, and Prince and win.But - it was still very good movie.

They had his trust, and as I said, Yueh was under Imperial Conditioning, the type that should prevent betrayal.
Also, as a medical doctor he was best placed to poison guards and administer anesthetics.
He was pretty much the linchpin of the plan.

Also, meh, I think Jose Ferrer did the best job as Padishah-Epmeror:

Walken as the Emperor?
...
Now I'm just picturing the Emperor's big entrance being an extended dance montage utilizing anti-gravity. Hits the same bizarro tone as the rest of the Dune aesthetic...Though would probly be more at-home in the Lynch interpretation than Villaneioviouaiouix's.

'Walk without rhythm and you won't attract the worm', indeed.

Anyhow, seems a solid casting choice. One of few (only?) sci-fi franchises I've got any real looking-forward-to for.

That would have fit better in the SyFy miniseries, with gaudy, cheap costumes.

He was good, but Salvador Dali would be better if Jodorowsky made his version.
P.S Yuech even as trusted doctor could not get to both schield generator and comm center and kill crews of both sites, after that taking Prince alive.Nor he could poison them,he was not responsible for their food.

Jodorowsky's dune would have been very popular with art critics and people interested in the purely technical aspects of the film, but the Talifan would have been pissed, and it would have led to a cult classic and a split base at best.

As to Yueh, well there is nothing to suggest he was good at combat, maybe his knowledge of physiology, close contact with the Atreides new army, and his Bene Gesserit wife combined to give him enough of an inkling into Prana-Bindu/Weirding, but there wasn't anything to suggest Suk doctors were capable fighters.
Maybe he just had to tranquilize the guards and take out the shield generators, he was adept at medicine and poisons, indicated by that poison gas tooth he used, maybe the Harkonens had more special the hidden for him to use, something akin to the hunter-killers.
Herbert didn't go into specifics.

From all I've heard of Jodorowsky's atrocity, I'm damned glad that ....thing was never made.

Yeah, Jodorowsky has done a few interesting things, but he is definitely a loon.
In an interview he said that his adaptation was basically "Raping Frank Herbert".
Visually it would have been an interesting acid trip, though.
There are some fun fan CGIs of his ideas around YT.

"But with love!" he went on to add. "With love!"

Yeah, the man is a loon. But I'm glad the project was there, for a while, even if it didn't end up leading to a Dune film. It brought many creative people together, and influenced many later works.

And Jodorowsky himself went on to partner up with others, and they used his ideas for Dune in The Incal and (most especially) the Saga of the Metabarons. So all's well that ends well.
