In defense of that last one, I hear that the new Ghostbuster movie looks pretty good. Surprised to see that it's only hanging at 9%. Either I've heard wrong, or the stink from Ghostbusters 2016 hasn't worn off yet.

Not much is known about it right now. It is still mainly only known to the land of movie buff and people that follow entertainment news. The frist previews just hit the theaters over Christmas so expect more people to be talking about it soon.
So for the poll. It is great that people are looking forward to Dune but it is from a website for movie fans that polled major movie fans. Overall Expect a lot of people are looking forward to it but I doubt it will be in the same category as Wonder Women or the new Fast and the Furious.
As for the new movie I have been looking forward to it. But I also have both the movie and mini series on DvD.

Not really big news but apparently a title poster was leaked of the Dune film during some event in France.

I can see it working for the Harkonnens, but not the Corrinos or the Atreides.

What purpose does that serve? You can gender flip in stories where it makes sense, can fit and you're a decent enough writer/director to pull it off...But like I said it has serve a purpose and make sense.

Like if you were gonna do this cast Jessica Alba or Halle Berry or something.

Kynes isn't even a Fremen, so I think race is kind of irrelevant?
I don't believe we can even be certain Kynes was born on Arrakis. His father was an Imperial appointee.
The terrible prequel books established him as a half breed. Pardot Kynes married Silgars aunt or someshit

The point is that they can do it; that's the only thing which matter to people who want to change the gender and/or race of established characters. It's all about the power trip.
Vanity Fair just released an article covering the Dune Movie with lots of interview blurbs, details and pictures from the film. A lot of it looks great to me. Just have one or two minor (obvious) quibbles.
