Musk actually buys Twitter.

Is there some rule you imagine that jobs *can't* provide quality of life anemities as part of what draws people to work there? Keep in mind that the big tech workplaces *are* large campuses on par with any college, and that these are not things provided out of "charity", but cold-blooded calculation that they're able to attract and retain better talent, push them harder, and get more out of them by providing such.

If Twitter was making a net profit even with all of these expenses nobody would really be saying anything. In fact it could have made a decent experiment on how long a post scarcity utopia could have worked on a small scale and what all would have been needed to keep it going as a good chunk of these employees were essentially "moral support. IE wasn't really there to do anything except show up and hang out with people.

But it wasn't profitable from the word go it was costing $4 million per day and when you are in the red that much the first thing people are going to point out are all the luxury benefits.

So no there is nothing wrong with this as long as it isn't driving you to bankruptcy. Hershey did it, Disney was going to try it, but Dorsey was neither of these men and Twitter was never that profitable.

I mean, if they want to run their company into the ground with it, that's on them too.

Again, what I find funny is the blue checks playing it off like Elon is literally starving people by taking away their free meals.

The media and Government want to investigate Musk. I wonder what damage an Angry Elon Musk can do to them?

These guys were paid a pretty good salary for basically doing nothing if they had saved their money and carefully managed their financies then they will be fine having more then enough money to have a decient life after being fired.
Money? Ha! Money is losing value by the day, and these idiots have no useful skills. When things get tight, it suddenly turns out that nobody needs these leeches for anything. Their lives aren't going to be decent, and they know it. Their future is the inescapable poverty of the terminally useless in difficult times.

I know that it's unseemly to gloat, but think of it. Years, decades, they've looked down on those filthy blue-collar "deplorables". They were so sure that they were part of the elite, always at liberty to demean and despise the yokels.

When the shit hits the fan, who do you need? A fact-checker whose credentials boil down to "I kicked 5000 Trump voters off Twitter"? Or a Trump-voting plumber who works hard and knows what he's doing? A soy-sipper who cries when he doesn't get free avocado-on-toast anymore? Or a man who gets up before five, drinks his coffee black as the night, and then gets to work before the sun even rises?

Who has practical value in this world?

That question determines who thrives -- and indeed survives -- in the coming decides.

It's unseemly to gloat, but there's plenty of things far more unseemly. You'll have to forgive me if a chuckle a bit at the slow, strangling demise of those things.

While part of me wants to agree until the money machine stops going Brrrrr we're all in the crapper not just the bluechecks. I'm crippled and I don't exactly have the easiest time working with my hands. So forgive me if I don't exactly look forward to total economic collapse even if it means knocking these guys down a peg.

More happenings. Someone complains about Twitter for Android app. Elon comes in and agrees it isn't that good. He apologises to people the app isn't good. Then one of the Twats at Twitter comes in to complain Elon is being mean to his app. Results are what you would expect of someone shit talking the CEO publicly for clout.

Perhaps more interesting is the fact the dude did try and offer a explanation, but he was so entitled about it he couldn't resist first making a scene about it. He wrote a entire essay, but it seems to be gone now that the boss fired him. It also raises the question that this guy has been on this app development for 6 years and it is STILL SHIT?

Perhaps one of the more interesting aspects are how people defending this dude are reacting. One side seems to have gone into the "muh freeze peach" argument, suddenly claiming to believe in freedom of speech now that it suits them or claiming that Elon should be taking backtalk from overpaid employees who can't control themselves. The other, more interesting cope is people like this:

Seems they can't understand that people hate Twitter's employees and find them entitled and disgusting. It HAS to be Elon fanboyism! No way they just naturally hate this dude for having a dream job and throwing it away by being a complete fucking retard!

RON/PLC was a wonderful country.
All the fired Twitter employees should Learn to Weld since they obvious never learned to code.
You know, I wouldn't even give them anything but a shovel in their hands. If they can't do simple code right, why should I trust them to weld something right? And the fact that an application malfunctions is a much smaller threat to life than a badly welded component.

It's quite natural. When it's time to bring down a class higher than you there's a pleasure in doing so if they laughed at you but now the table is turned.

You're being too optimistic. Dollars to donuts they're gonna stab that shovel handle-first into the ground.
