By baking yellowcake, in the culinary sense.
... I'd watch this movie
The TWIST, here, is that radiation makes Godzilla stronger and North Korea has been slowly feeding him 'failed' missiles full of fissile material to make baby-Godzilla into big-strong man Godzilla and domesticating him...or, at least, taming him with food enough that he may be sicked on Japan more easily.

Take that Hanz Brix!
That screenplay totally needs to be written, maybe on a backdrop reminiscient of a deconstructed 'Smiley's People'
Closest we've got would probably be that Charles Stross story about the norks unexpectedly winning the space race.

I'm trying to make sense of this... both sides know the war is about to stop, but they keep shooting at each other because....?

Entente, because they didn't believe Germans would abide by terms of ceasefire and were looking only for short time respite, so they wanted to keep up pressure to the last minute. Germans, because they were defenders and attackers were attacking.
That and you had glory hounds.

Because it was just some peasant conscripts dying. and that is good fun for the ruling class.
Eh, WWI is one war you can't say only peasants did the dying.
The gullible died.

Rich or poor they still got PTSD'ed and Western societies didn't accept something like existed.

I remember a story an Italian cook told me and others about a family member that was kept as POW in Stalin's and Khrushchev's camps (yeah Nikita closed them but not that ASAP) and he returned home.

The soldier's mom : "You back"

The soldier : "I just came back from the war"

The mom : "Eh. Dinner's ready"

Might be wholesome at first glance but take just a few secs to think about it.

WW1 PTSD was still seen as "being a coward". It was fucking terrible for the poor bastards suffering shell shock. :(

This is from a drama, but it's a completely accurate depiction.

"Fix bayonets!"

You know shit is gonna hit the fan.
