This is made so well that I don't need to understand a single word to understand literally everything.

> Guys working in field/collecting herbs
> See a guerilla fighter with a RPG launcher
> Run over to fawn over him, take selfies
> Fighter tells them to be quite and stop
> Ignore him and start start livestreaming
> All of them get blown up by a dronestrike
> their position was revealed by their lifestream
> PSA: DON'T DO THAT

And it is actually true. As we have seen both ukraine and israel target enemies based on their phone live streams. Or more slowly hit based on other social media posts and presence.

Honestly, militaries should be confiscating phones. Or at least issuing special locked down phones.
This is not something new you know.
do you nit remember the fitness watch that gave away a SF base?

There were fitness watches that gave location data. The data was public enough that suddenly certain small areas outside the US had a large number of users amidst a general surroundings where there were no users. This effectively exposed where military bases were.
You heard of the flashcard program scandal with the US nuclear storage troops in Europe? They used an open flashcard app to store the locations and readiness of the nukes on base, because they would be drilled on it and needed a way to practice.

Phone apps and giving away top secret information, name a more famous duo.

Oh, that reminds me how they destroyed iran's nuclear centrifuges

> USB has critical vulnerabilities
> Spies just dropped USB sticks in parking lot of nuclear reactor.
> Random employees picked them up and used them
> USB stick had a virus on it
> Virus took over the centrifuges. looped the recording of the data. Then set them to spin too fast so they break.
> Why are they all breaking? The recording shows they were operating in normal parameters!

also IIRC there was:

> The virus leaks into the www
> Norton antivirus finds this. Figures out what it was used for. Exposes plot to the world

Yes, it is vulnerable. Even a teenage script kiddy can do this stuff, some do it to troll schools, and one former student took it far enough to get into the news. That's why every high security computer has it set so that USB either doesn't automatically connect with any external devices, or just is outright blocked from recognizing new USB connections.

Wasn't there a military exercise where one guy found the other sides tinder profiles of it's women soldiers and used that to triangulate their position for a simulated artillery bombardment?
Not just simulated:

Phone being put in areas where they have no connection as well as not having phones is key to OPSEC

They are free and available and they are regularly updated if slightly out of date. Outside of immediate need they are good for planning missions that don't need up to date info or you need a general view of the land. Especially with street view.
google also tracks everything. and collaborates with law enforcement.
so it is a massive gaping huge security risk.
