Does the idiom of the person "watching from the afterlife" upset you that much?
The image is not idiomatic in the slightest. The entire point of the image is to be very literal about such as the reason why the hypothetical technology is bad. The issues I take with the technical dependencies of gradually increasing replacements for extreme resuscitation until the mind-uploads occur giving a long path of normalization very much still hold. And the disconnect rendering the punishment scheme unreasonable also holds true.

Let's translate that bottom one to 'Murican units ... 😋

20°C is 68.0°F. 24°C is 75.2°F. Your home thermostat is probably set between these two numbers.

28°C is 82.4°F. If an A/C system in Germany can't handle that it's either broken or someone screwed up the design.

32°C is 89.6°F. That's roughly the cooling design DB for Freiburg im Bresgau. Hot, but expected a few times every year in that part of Germany.

Note the date in both. June 21st. The summer solstice and roughly 3.5 weeks before the N. Hemisphere summer temperature peak.

21.06.2022 is not an outlier. It's at the upper edge of the expected range.

Given the standard of the Biden admin for calling people traitors and inssurectionists and terrorists? Their mandates.

Which isn't a excuse. Just do it and force the mask to come off. Accelerate this bitch.

Ever try to boil water?

A small pot boils faster but the larger the pot the longer it takes for it to boil and it takes longer for it to boil over.

Now imagine western civilization is the water it's a pot that covers multiple continates and has millions of people.

That's a hard pot to boil and in fact has been boiling since the French revolution. And as of now we have just gotten a simmer going. speeding that up is an incredibly difficult thing.

The point is that "mind-uploading" does not actually make you immortal.

fair. but also eh.
it is a ship of Theseus kind of thing. if there is no soul, then you can be replicated.

regardless, its not at all practical. it requires supertech beyond the scope of the known laws of physics.
even then, it won't actually make you immortal. computers are not indestructible.
and then there is the software aspect. if your uploaded brain is emulated perfectly... then it is aging in some manner. if it is not then it could not be a true replica and differ from you.

tons of hurdles really.

Yeah, well, try South Eastern Europe.

It is pretty hot here, bot not something my AC can't handle.

As a kid I remember running around in 32°C weather.

ACs while wonderful, have made us all a lot less capable of withstanding natural temperatures.

We have hit a few recipe rds, but not iirc all time records.

Thet said, I'd prefer it be less humid and below 30.

Let me put it this way, every year we here in AZ have a tradition of taking a cookie sheet, putting down some cookie dough like we're going to bake cookies, setting said cookie sheet on the dash of our car, and parking it outside.

It bakes properly in about 3 hours.

Yes,but once they take full power,at least 10% of population die.Like in soviets,China,or other commie places.
And when that happen,it would be to late for fighting.

I read memories of russian exiles - Most did notching when Lenin take power and do not supported whites, becouse they were "reactionary" , but when they were gone, they were next.

No one forced you to live in such a hellish climate.

Are you saying Sunhawk was sent there as a penal colonist?

Dude must be really old, then.

Anyway, there are stories of eggs frying on sublit car trunks in the more southern parts of Bulgaria.

Always thought that might have been a legend, but maybe from what I heard about the cookie tradition, well.
Dunno if it was Haskovo or Sandanski, though.

Yes, Arizona is a well-known part of Australia. I hear the beaches are lovely there.

If the Gadsen purchase hadn't been fucked up Arizona would have had a coast.

see that map... all you needed was a strait line and Arizona would have had access to the sea of Baha. There would have been coastal cities and everything. Just a strait line and the Arizona territory would have had that.
