Saudi Arabia has tons of Islamic fundies, literal flat-earth-because-the-Koran-says-so types, but they do not rule the country. The House of Saud does.

Iran is an Islamic Theocracy in name and practice, yes. But they are Shi'ite Muslims, not Sunni Wahabi's. They talk a lot about the USA being the Great Satan, but they don't fly airplanes into buildings.

Rural tribal society is rural and tribal. And hard to conquer and hold down. But if you leave them alone, they won't pick fights outside their borders. It wasn't the Taliban who did 911.

And then there's Pakistan, Malaysia, and quite a few other places. No, by Western standards they are not nice places. And Christian missionary work in such lands is difficult and dangerous. The whole point of Islam, after all, was to prevent human beings from coming to faith in Christ by giving them a false religion instead.
But the idea that the moment any Moslem country gets hold of nukes it's going to let fly at the West with them?
Pakistan has had nukes for a while now, and they've managed to not even launch them at India so far.

Eh, apparently, the Ukrainians were worried about them flipping and so spent the years since the secession of Crimea arresting all of the lower level politicians that seemed to have ties to Russia. Hard to tell what would have happened in an untampered test case.

They didn't, but it was a near thing - because the ones who decided whether to seceed or not were local figures with political clout. I know there were some frantic negotiations with local politicians to keep Kharkiv and Zaporizhia on Ukraine.
