White feather girls
No as cherico said the original feminists who wanted to give women the vote gave men white feathers and called them cowards for not fighting in ww1.Not quite. The OG ones hated the draft, period. Not just drafting women, drafting anyone.
It really feels like I'm the only one who even bothers to research what talking points will or won't work.....
No, it was the Anti-Feminists that did that. Including, to repeat myself, THE HEAD OF THE WOMEN'S ANTI-SUFFRAGETTE MOVEMENT!No as cherico said the original feminists who wanted to give women the vote gave men white feathers and called them cowards for not fighting in ww1.
Wasn’t there a suffrage organization that imploded because half opposed the war and draft and half supported it through? No, it was the Anti-Feminists that did that. Including, to repeat myself, THE HEAD OF THE WOMEN'S ANTI-SUFFRAGETTE MOVEMENT!
Did that finally penetrate your dogmatic brain? It was the feminists that were opposing the draft and the anti-feminists that were handing out white feathers. Which is about what I would expect from women that oppose rights for women.......but at any rate, your dogma is literally the opposite of the truth.
Again.
Who knows? Look them up if you want to use them as an argument.Wasn’t there a suffrage organization that imploded because half opposed the war and draft and half supported it through?
This is a literal denial of actual history. You are rewriting history in an attempt to make feminists somehow look better. No, it was the Anti-Feminists that did that. Including, to repeat myself, THE HEAD OF THE WOMEN'S ANTI-SUFFRAGETTE MOVEMENT!

The Pankhurst that’s who I was thinking about thanks. This is a literal denial of actual history. You are rewriting history in an attempt to make feminists somehow look better.

In Britain during the First World War a white feather was often given to men out of uniform by women to shame them publicly into signing up to fight...www.historic-uk.com

The suffragettes were fucking terrorists, btw.
Yep. By all possible definitions of the term. Also:The suffragettes were fucking terrorists, btw.
She transformed the WSPU machinery into the Women's Party, which was dedicated to promoting women's equality in public life. In her later years, she became concerned with what she perceived as the menace posed by Bolshevism and joined the Conservative Party. She was selected as the Conservative candidate for Whitechapel and St Georges in 1927
Are you seriously quoting a blog written by an anti-feminist historian that isn't even trying to stay objective?Well well well...
At the start of World War I, Admiral Charles Fitzgerald, who was a strong advocate of conscription, wanted to increase the number of those enlisting in the armed forces. Therefore he organised on 30 August 1914 a group of thirty women in his home town of Folkestone to hand out white feathers to any men that were not in uniform. Fitzgerald believed using women to shame the men into enlisting would be the most effective method of encouraging enlistment.[5][6] The group that he founded (with prominent members being the authors Emma Orczy and Mary Augusta Ward) was known as the White Feather Brigade or the Order of the White Feather.[7]
Here we see proof of the failures of the public schooling system. My very first line agrees that they were terrorists. And Emmeline Pankhurst was the leader of the most militant suffragette group, which you are deliberately ignoring.
Obvious troll is obvious
The point being....the white feathers were not solely anti...Here we see proof of the failures of the public schooling system. My very first line agrees that they were terrorists.
No, all the millions of them were not a monolithic block. But it was primarily a movement derived from ultra conservative women, including the actual ANTI-Suffragettes.The point being....the white feathers were not solely anti...

But seriously, this entire line of argument is misguided. The last thing you'd want to attack zealots for is insufficient zeal. Even if you manage to make it stick, somehow, do you know what will happen next? I'll tell you.
Feminists will start demanding that women start taking up top roles in all militaries, and the older feminists will be discarded as not being extremist enough.
No, they're still on top. And they will stay on top as long as power is decided by how much money and votes you can bring to the table. It's (VERY roughly) women>blacks and other nonwhites>LGBTs>poor middle class whites>Jews>=Asians>Whites in principle.Woman are no longer at the top of the SJW totem pole, so they will lose to gay disabled people of colour, or something.
Don't say that in front of your mother. In any case, that business of women giving white feathers to sane guys who did not want to go and throw their lives away in the service of a regime that cared nothing for them except as an expandable resource were probably just acting on a primitive female instinct: trying to get men to kill each other so the females get to mate with the winners.
I might.Don't say that in front of your mother.
And no, it was just nationalism. It was very popular in those days to preach that there's nothing sweeter than to give your life for your country.
WW1 was actually the point where that idea started to become unpopular. The Vietnam War ended it.
