Media/Journalism Cringe Megathread - Hot off the Presses

From 2016, Meghann Foye, a thirty eight year old Magazine editor wrote a book called Meternity where she revealed her envy for coworkers who had children that got maternity/paternity leave and opining why childless women like herself couldn't have MEternity leaves. 😢

Basically it's just a whine about wanting vacation without having to use any PTO hours. Pathetic.

Republican Senator Josh Hawley: I am critical of Supreme Court Nominees Kentaji Brown-Jackson's record on child pornography.

"Hair Bear" Elie Mystal, Legal JUSTICE Correspondent: Senator Hawley is trying to get her killed!

Some real bad advice there too. Buying in bulk is more important than ever during inflation. It lets you take advantage of the better prices now than the worse prices later in addition to bulk discount.
That's not advice to help people, it's meant to hose them by slowing panic buying so prices remain low temporarily while the 1% buy in bulk and get theirs early.

They similarly have "Sell your car and don't buy a replacement" in there, which will conveniently set people up for having to enter the "subscription service" model where they own nothing and are dependent on the kleptocrats for transportation.

And "Don't take care of your pets, it's too expensive" is just evil.

Terrible advice in fact.

Especially the "take the bus" part. That sounds like it was said by someone who has 24/7 access to reliable public transportation. Most Americans don't and a working automobile - no matter how shitty - might be more important than their home.

"Gasoline, water, and food. In that strict order." is something I've heard a homeless man say.
