"white man bad"
It sounds like this is great, but also like the current Leftist actions have brought McConnell behind Trump for once.

“Peaceful demonstration intensified”

How can “peace” be “intensified”?

This is Orwellian brutalization of the English language at its worst.
Huh. I hadn't thought of it that way. I got the gist without much thought, as "intensify" is often used in such contexts in order to mean escalation into violence. Good point though.

If anything it's a pretty hamfisted word-association game. Place nice sounding words around negative ideas in the hope that it will lessen the impact.

If anything, we've seen so far that people currently tend to take the latest term that is associated with a thing and run with it. So Antifa (lit Anti-Fascist) ends up meaning something very close to fascist because our meme culture has trained us to catch on and re-define slang at a lightning pace. If this is as real as I seem to think, then by the end of the riots terms like "peaceful" and "protestor" will have assumed radically different meanings.

Or they might retain their normal meaning, even when placed in the same sentence, but when their proximity gets too close and in the right context...

What's that a violent riot? All I see is a peaceful protest.

Is what someone might try but even that Chinese ambassador had a does not compute moment when he can't bullshit his way out of a ughur mistreatment video.
The strategy is that all rioters are peaceful protesters until caught on camera

Then they’re still peaceful protestors, its just Trump’s fault they weren’t being so peaceful

And something about differentiating “peaceful protestors” from rioters, like those who let some cops and federal agents kneel in solidarity before them....those might have been defused....I think a police chief who kneeled got the shit beaten out of him by the rioters
