Media/Journalism Cringe Megathread - Hot off the Presses

Disgusting Scalie
I have seen people in AH honestly and without a hint of shame say that implying Biden is mentally weak and tired, possibly with dementia due to old age, is a "Fox News talking point" while at the same time they were discussing how "Trump is loosing energy and can't do rallies anymore".

They are that delusional. It's a minority, but they are a VERY LOUD minority.

I dunno, I've seen multiple threads on SB with title variants on "Why is the media so hostile to Biden and so nice to Trump?" Maybe it's just all smoke and mirrors but it seems to me there's actually a portion who genuinely believe that Biden's being criticized more than Trump was, or perhaps just feel that any criticism of Biden must be inherently wrong.
I believe they simply think that any criticism of Trump is the Truth ("well yeah, the media called Trump dumb because he IS dumb, duh"), while any criticism of Biden must be a "spin". That's why it looks to them like the media was fair to Trump (because they think it portrayed him as he is, and he really was that bad) but hostile to Biden.

The notion that their very perceptions of the two men were heavily skewed by the media in the first place (so their view of how Trump "really is" is already tainted from the get go) doesn't even cross their minds. They are absolutely, 100% convinced that Trump is evil, based on shit like "he mocked a handicapped journalist!" or "he refused to disavow white supremacists!" which they think of as solid facts that they've seen with their own eyes, not realizing that this impression of theirs is bullshit lies and they have been been manipulated by the media.

How anyone can trust the media that much on anything is beyond me.

This is more cringe journalism then cringe celebrity because reading the article, it shows why you should never do print interviews. Like I find it hard to believe that anyone could be unaware that there were ethnic people in the pop music world. She seemed to be talking about Filipino-Americans in the pop world, which is fairly true but the journalists are too stupid/ignorant/pathetic to draw that from her comments and instead state that she clearly sees all pop stars as being White until now. Could be wrong, but that's how I'm seeing it.

The most pathetic part is how blatantly white she is herself...

If she thinks 'only white girls can,' she's not bucking that trend herself.

Of course, she's also forgetting about people like Beyonce, and Mariah Carey, both of whom were spectacularly successful pop stars. Mariah Carey holding a number of records, a reputation for her incredible vocal range and earning hundreds of millions of dollars.

Seriously. One of the most annoying things about the modern identitarian leftists is that for them, history between 1970 and 2010 seems to just not exist.

Even those two demonstrate just how young you are. ;) Let me introduce to you the 1970s and 80s and 90s and until her death pop LEGEND, Whitney Houston:

Aye. I don't really follow pop music, and I was still able to come up with two off the top of my head. I'm sure there are many more.

And if you go to back before it was called 'Pop,' things like Motown and Disco had all *kinds* of people who would fit the profile.

Motown was definitionally "black" music, as in the genre got it's name from the black owned record label that focused on hiring and cross promoting black music groups to mainstream white appeal.

And we can go back further. When Jazz was the top form of popular music in America, do you know who was the Greatest Jazz Musician and Performer of All Time?

Lois Armstrong... you know, in the super racist and actual segregationist periods of 1930s to 1950s. And he was hardly the only huge successful and popular black jazz performer of the era.

Just... the idea one had to be white to succeed in popular American music is so utterly disconnected with the actual HISTORY of popular music in America I find it kinda flabbergasting. Was there racism in the music industry in America? Certainly, I have no doubts, but good music was good music was good music and if one made good music one often became popular even back in the bad old days of segregation and Jim Crow...

Endangering and prolonging the suffering of my child for petty principles of little tangible value. Liberal Logic.

Huh; so apparently I can't look at the replies anymore on Twitter without logging on to an account. Anyways; who is honestly surprised at this point? These people value their tribal allegiances more than anything else; and shunning outsiders who don't obey the orders of their thought leaders without question is how they acquire clout.

Yeah been that way for a few days now. Still refuse to make an account. Just right click and open in a new tab. Bit annoying but not by much.
