Self defense means that even though its just 2 of their thugs gone, there's more where they came from after all, by turning into national news this story has reminded all of the rest of leftist street enforcers of both their mortality, and now with the verdict, the illegality of their actions.
Of course it pisses them off that the state still won't protect them from their targets.
Challenging their BLM riots reinforced belief in impunity both legal and practical is what pisses them off, because its going to chill both the recruitment efforts and the fanaticism of existing street enforcers of their movement.
That's what pisses them off so much - the damage to self-confidence of their vanguard, their recruitment efforts, their public appearance of being powerful and invulnerable.
no one is invulnerable and when you have that delusion your going to have a bad time.

I've ignored the whole lawyer drama unril now, but good grief these two lawyers (stereotype confirmed) do seem to be grifters of the highest order. Imagine spending almost three months in jail because your legal team think your "safer" in jail. No... No... you are not safer in jail. Jail is not an enjoyable place to be and it's certainly not a safe place to be, physically or for your emotional and mental well being.
This is why I have problems with people who wanted to use Rittenhouse more for a cause, than for his personal wellbeing.
