Impeachment

There's probably more than a few Democrat voters looking at this and thinking "is now really the best time?" Shenanigans over the past four years have turned a ton of the American public against them and totally galvanized Republicans. All it does in positive terms for the Democrats is obstruct the Orange Man and pander to the ever dwindling "Orange Man Bad" crowd. Meanwhile they alienate Independent and swing voters whilst essentially forcing all Republicans to rally around Trump. Their pathetic, frantic attempts to destroy the Orange Man will ultimately result in their own destruction. This coupled with their behaviour over the Coronavirus pandemic could lead to an electoral wipe out this year. They'll get mauled worse than Labour did over here last year.

Look at the example of Tim Pool. Watching him, a former die hard Democrat, slowly get more and more pissed off with the Dems is beautiful. Even if he doesn't vote Trump, he's taking an Independent ticket and he won't be alone. Mark my words.

Can you just imagine the screeching if Trump was VP and Pence the President. Is that possible? Looking at article 22, I think it's possible unless they argue that 'office of the president' includes 'holding the position of vice president'
To be Vice President you have to meet the qualifications required to be President; one of those is the term limit. So no, someone twice elected to the Presidency cannot be Vice President in the future.

I'm certain that interpretation could be litigated.

Here's a thought, couldn't that rule also work in reverse. Wouldn't someone who has served 2 terms as VP be disqualified from becoming president. If the restrictions apply to both positions and the service in one consumes the term limit of the other, wouldn't that mean that Joe Biden and Al gore are disqualified from the presidency. I forget, was Bush SR. Reagan's VP for both terms?

The last line of the Twelfth Amendment: "But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States. "

A person who has twice been elected President becomes ineligible for the office of President and thus also becomes ineligible for the office of Vice President.

No, it doesn't work that way. And yes, GHW Bush was Reagan's VP for two terms. The term-limit thing only kicks in once the person becomes president.
In theory, Biden could choose Jimmy Carter as his running-mate, since Carter only served one term.

That makes sense actually. Because the VP is the immediate successor of the president, so you wouldn't want someone who is ineligible to be president.
