Shield Hero had something that went like this : "Everyone hates me so why the fuck bother with reputation?"
I suspect the inspiration there was Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World. I didn't watch it myself but from the flamewars it generated in discussions it apparently went from "My god, I just killed a guy" to "I need to kill fifty more guys for their bounties to buy this dog girl sex slave the slave merchant is offering at a huge discount" in the space of a couple of episodes.

I've seen men do crazier to get laid

Legit. It seems that pop-beauty is equivalent to popularity. Especially when there was movie stars, the big names were all average in looks but people all claimed that they were 10/10. A lot of models are chosen (I've heard) because they will accent the clothes without distracting from them, so they aren't idols but living mannequins.
eh slight disagreement. movie stars used to be picked based on looks. they got picked because they were above average. not a dime but a 7 or so that careful use of makeup and outfit choice you add a point or 2. add in the ability to fake a personality in a movie somebody likes? I could see how someone says X in this movie is their waifu. Models are their own thing that is more about how the clothes look and less about the model. admittedly modern entertainment being what it is they are trying to subvert standards of beauty. so there is no surprise that one could find a woman at the corner store that they find more attractive than Rey Skywalker or someone similar.

Depends. I look at women like Drew Barrymore or Jennifer Anniston and that is certainly not the case. They are solid nickels, the only way I can see them getting strong starting roles is on their backs. Olivia Wilde was at least a 9 during most of the 00's,but never got really famous.

If I were to be cynical, I would say that beautiful women who went to California got married to rich men before they fell into the trap of Hollywood. While mediocre women found other ways to ensure their popularity.

Some times people are picked because of family connections, and merit.

Tenchi did the harem thing better.Hell John Carter had a better Princess than most Isekai. Dejah Thoris was a scientist in her own right and a diplomat. She could also kick ass.
Yup,Tenchi Muyo waifus are at least partially logical, not all womans want me nonsense.
Slave harems - because even in a wish-fulfillment fantasy they can't imagine women wanting to stay with them willingly.
Sad,but true.

Depending on the series? He had from 2 to 5 women after him.

Ayeka and Ryoko of course. The ones up in the air are Washu, Mihoshi, and Kiyone from Tenchi Universe.

If it was the same manga i watched, then it was not sex slave, but warrior girl who helped him kill targets.Well, there was sex, too, but sho was not some weak geisha, but killing machine.

I forget those 3.But,considering that Washu was goddess, it look rather not logical.

There’s also the matter of personal integrity to consider. The Hollywood stars being the women who accepted when the likes of Weinstein scurried over and made them an offer, not the ones who pepper-sprayed the creep.
