Most people can't afford that kind of insurance.

If something like that is your car and properly insured you're not going to get hit with more than the deductible. If it's not your car you better hope that it either wasn't your fault or your insurance has a really high payout limit because cars like that are about three times as expensive as what's allowed at LeMans and street legal.

Well, they need to come up with a way to compensate inconvenienced bystanders somehow.

Don’t recall from which series or episode, but I remember a case in which—after destroying a bunch of stuff and apologizing to Lex Luthor for it (he was hosting the event, I think)—Superman said the Justice League would pay for the damage. Maybe superheroes pool resources together to afford those massive expenses, though a certain Dark Knight—directly or indirectly—probably foots the bill for most of them?

That was mighty generous of them since they caused all the damage while Lex Luthor was hosting an event they disapproved of if I'm remembering things correctly.

Sounds about right, yeah. Don't remember the series or episode yet, but will make an effort to track it down.

Bruce Wayne is hardly the only .01%er on the League's roster. Green Arrow is traditionally shown to be from significant money. Aquaman is King of Atlantis, which given it's natural resources and such is no small chump financially. Wonder Woman too is often shown as being a fairly successful businesswoman too, enough to be upper middle class at the very least, and often has backing from her homeland too. That puts two millionaire/billionaires, the actual ruler of a major country, and the Princess of a minor country as a major section of the League... that's a lot of financial power right there even without Wayne.

Really, only Clark Kent, John Jones, and Barry Allen are from more financially average backgrounds, with Clark clearly being a fairly middle class guy pulling in a middle to upper middle class income from his reporting work and being from a family farm. Barry Allen works as a professional police forensics scientist, so again, middle income professional. John Jones' work as a Private Investigator likely puts him on the least financially sure footing of any of the League's members, but his telepathy and other abilities likely make him a highly successful PI overall.

So like, more than half the League comes from significant money, though the arguably most powerful members of the League are all middle class... interesting dichotomy there in a way.
