Former caterer gets delusional, declares war on Russia

So you are saying that the US military should wait for what could be weeks while we are getting attacked?

Most of the military "interventions" (ie acts of war) that people are objection to here, were not a case of US territory or forces being attacked at all, but of the US deciding to go pick the fight.
Unless you think that any country anywhere in the world doing something you don't like counts as you "getting attacked" ?

Yes or you should change your constitution. You can defend yourself from attacks obviously you just can’t attack your enemies. You can’t keep jerking off the constitution and say you believe in it if you are doing something that goes against it.
Doesn't the War Powers Resolution imply that the president can send in the military on a 60 day clock to convince Congress it was a good idea? Defending the actual USA from attack is an exception to needing approval, I suppose on the logic that a de facto state of war exists without needing Congress to declare one or give AUMF.

So, Putin has just after hours of isolation came out and given a speech where he came down hard on Prigo and calls this rebellion a 'betrayal' with the words 'stab in the back' being thrown around quite a bit and Wagner has responded.

They look like they are actually going through with this into full on open rebellion.

this is kind of win win if your Ukraian.

How do you say "pass the popcorn" in Ukrainian?

Seriously, this is the sort of ludicrous plot that usually appears in subpar techno-thrillers, as a contrived deus ex machina. "But SUDDENLY, as the assault of the Western forces seemed to fall short of reaching a critical break-through, the treacherous (post-)commies TURNED ON EACH OTHER."

Pereday popkorn.

Returning to the thread, the Great Smuta, once again engulfs Moskovia. Now just wait until the miraculously surviving Carevich Dmitri who needs to be helped to regain the throne is found.
After that, things will go downhill.

Oh Wagner is in Voronezh... and they shot down a Russian Military Plane?!

And attempting to shoot down Ka-52 Helicopters but missed and struck an oil depot instead? Or the flares the helicopter launched in response started the flares?

Many such losses of aircraft. Including more Russian helicopters including rare Russian Mi-8 Electronic Warfare birds.

Even more frightening... Gunfire just broke out in Rostov?

Wagner is in complete control of Rostov including it's airfield. All Russian aircraft reportedly accompanied by a Wagner Fighter to ensure it's not used against Wagner. They captured high level Russian military personnel and Chief of Staff Gerasimov fled the now captured headquarters ahead of time.

Russian Telegram reporting Wagner Forces already driving up through Lipetsk in their way to Moscow.

Riots Reportedly breaking out in Moscovite Detention and Prison Areas. Prison officials deny story.

Russian Military Penal Units, the 'Storm Z' ones however express support for Wagner as well in some cases.

Well if this leads to a quicker end to the war, this is great news. I am curious to see how it all plays out. A new Russian president and end to the conflict in Ukraine is unlikely, but would be nice.
The thing is, Putin just made one of the worst moves possible. Calling Prigozhin a traitor means the man, other Wagner leaders, and frankly most of Wagner in general, now know that it's do-or-die.

They either take this all the way to Red Square, or the best outcome they have is dying swiftly on the battlefield.

Even if they don't win, they're going to fight as long and hard as they can, and just a couple of days or weeks of that will probably be enough to completely disintegrate the war effort in Ukraine.

On top of that, if the front does start collapsing in Ukraine, that weakens Putin and Shoigu's position even more, and makes more defections and side-switching all the more likely.

Well I wasn't expecting Russia's implosion to come this quickly. I was expecting it to at least hold off until after the war, with a loss there serving as the catalyst.

Still, the memes are coming thick and fast.

Putin will likely emerge victorious and if I recall, he came to the Presidency in 2000 because Yeltsin failed to crush the Chetnians (apologies for butchering).
Wagner has gone 'all in'. It's his only play, and it's going to shake things up quite a bit.

Wagner appears to have tactical and strategic suprise. I just don't know if he's got the legs to keep this going if it doesn't succeed in the next week. I can't imagine he'll be able to supply his forces well at all over any length of time. Scavenging will work for a short time only.

Wagner needs to have allies close to the center to pull this off. Question is, "Does he really have them, or has Putin set it up so Wagner only thinks he does?"

They are shutting down the routes into Moscow from Rostov, may blow bridges on the Oka.

Kadryov has declared for Putin/the MoD.

Russians blew up one of their own oil depots with a Hind to hinder the Wagner troops.

Appearently this area, Lipetsk, is also home tot he Russian's equivalent of Nellis AFB, and Wagner already took the airfield/air forces near Rostov.
