Food & Drink Food and Drink thread? Food and Drink thread.

Was just checking, wanted to know, because I'd trust your judgement in such matters.

Anyways, got any suggestions for using cholula sauce?
For hot sause I will use Texas Pete if I am feeling lazy. Franks Red Hot for most things. And Dave's Insanity sauce if I feel the need to do this..........

Hawaiian Pizza is great. If anyone says otherwise they're uncultured. :p

One of my favourite comfort foods is a sandwich:

Brown bread, garlic butter, liberal splatters of Tabasco sauce two sausages cut in half, jalepenos a layer of thick cheddar warmed so it traps the jalapenos against the sausages, two other sausages/jalapenos cut in half on the other slice of bread. A large cup off plain coffee. It'll keep you going for hours.

My first souffle: Made with honey. How's it look?

Anybody know a way to make ground turkey taste good? I had ground turkey tacos back in college and they weren't really great, and that's even factoring in the whole "mass produced food" aspect.

Marinade with steak sauce or British "smoke" sauce before cooking and thoroughly rub in sweet paprika, thyme, sage, and a bit of garlic.

The Base DFAC food is better then basic. If that is really an achievement. Then again it is an AFB and not an army base.

I have choices, sub sandwiches, burgers, philly cheesesteaks, asain food, pizza, burritos.

*snip*
You absolutely do not need much, "marinading" was an excessive description on my part, you rub some in and roll the meat around.

Will have to remember that, thank you.

So as a side discussion, who here spoils their doggo rotten and buys them fancy treats? And would they have any good suggestions for treating their pet?

What? You mean there are people who don't feed their dog proper human food?

The family dog back in my childhood would turn her nose up at dry dog food unless the juices from meat were added. And loved nicely cooked broccoli and carrots; although she didn't like green beans.

No we feed our dogs that special blend that they have at the vets, though I spoil mine a bit with dog treats she finds tasty. We also share veggies with them which they enjoy, whenever I am eating cucumber the dogs want some. For some reason they absolute love it.

A question for those of you from Trumpistan.

I've got another American themed dinner party coming up and was thinking of having burgers with one of the courses. Just got my new bbq so I'm looking forward to using that.

I've got two deep fryers, the bbq and my oven and slow cooker all ready to go so folks will have options with their meals. I'm thinking beef or pork brisket burger (from the slowcooker) with coleslaw and also beef pattie cheeseburgers from the bbq, fries from the deep fryers (not sure if fried chicken as well may be too much) and was umming and ahhing about spare ribs from my oven. Corn on the cob I can cook on the stove and the dessert I can prepare ahead of time like a mississipi mud cake or go for something simple to do like a banana split. Was thinking about having macaroni and cheese as another side dish and skipping the entree. So just the mains, side dishes and dessert.

To drink will be a selection of American whiskies, some budweiser, coca cola and was thinking of making some iced tea.

So how high on the Americameter does this all rate? 😁 any suggestions?

With the burgers I'm going to have the option at least of putting some fried spam and pineapple on it to make it a Hawaiian style burger like I had over there. There will be a range of condiments.
