I would recommend that you bake the Mac n Cheese at least, maybe put some bread crumbs on top. Also, instead of Mississippi Mud Cake, maybe try an apple pie, or a vanilla cake with an American flag on top-- can't get much more American than that.

All in all, I'd give your party nine Americas out of ten.

An American flag cake eh?
Here are just a few examples I found-- all you really need is some American ingenuity and you'll have a cake in no time. Also, if you like strawberries and blueberries they're delicious.

The Base DFAC food is better then basic. If that is really an achievement. Then again it is an AFB and not an army base.

I have choices, sub sandwiches, burgers, philly cheesesteaks, asain food, pizza, burritos.

Reasonably modern Air Force chow halls are not bad, at least for breakfast anyway.

A question for those of you from Trumpistan.

I've got another American themed dinner party coming up and was thinking of having burgers with one of the courses. Just got my new bbq so I'm looking forward to using that.

I've got two deep fryers, the bbq and my oven and slow cooker all ready to go so folks will have options with their meals. I'm thinking beef or pork brisket burger (from the slowcooker) with coleslaw and also beef pattie cheeseburgers from the bbq, fries from the deep fryers (not sure if fried chicken as well may be too much) and was umming and ahhing about spare ribs from my oven. Corn on the cob I can cook on the stove and the dessert I can prepare ahead of time like a mississipi mud cake or go for something simple to do like a banana split. Was thinking about having macaroni and cheese as another side dish and skipping the entree. So just the mains, side dishes and dessert.

To drink will be a selection of American whiskies, some budweiser, coca cola and was thinking of making some iced tea.

So how high on the Americameter does this all rate? 😁 any suggestions?

With the burgers I'm going to have the option at least of putting some fried spam and pineapple on it to make it a Hawaiian style burger like I had over there. There will be a range of condiments.

You need corn bread baked with slices of bacon in it. And do the pulled pork burgers with Carolina style mustard BBQ sauce.

Quick question, but does anyone else like potato pancakes?

I absolutely adore them; by all means, you make some lovely, nice potato pancakes from a dough of mashed up potatoes and a small quantity of flour to bind it, and pan fry or just sear them, and then put them down with marinated herrings or mackerels on top, a little dollop of sour cream, and a nice dusting of dill, chives, black pepper and paprika. There is nothing else more delicious in all of the world.

Sounds good to me. Though I might just eat them as regular pancakes and toss some good Quebecios Maple on it. Because maple goes with everything.

My sister would eat them with catsup, but my sister went through this phase as a teenager where she would put catsup on vanilla ice cream....

Okay, I put apple butter on my vanilla ice cream, ranch dressing on my pizza, pineapple on both my pizza and burgers, and salt on my raw tomatoes, but that is something that even I will not do.

No, just a teenager. Anyways, there are things that can actually go with ice cream, or certain types of ice cream, like fries with frosties.

I do admit that I use so much catsup on fried food and any kind of sandwich that has melted cheese, let alone the kind of veggie or chicken burgers I still eat, that it would equal 6 - 8 standard Heinz packages. I just adore that kind of Umami taste. But I also love British Brown Sauce and traditional mushroom catsup and even the Philippines' banana catsup. Sometimes I'll use it as an ingredient in stews, too, where it can balance the flavour of some herbs well and make a nice kick to the broth that isn't outright spicy.
