United States FLASH: U.S. SUPREME COURT JUSTICE RUTH BADER GINSBURG DEAD AT 87

Getting the President re-elected is more important. I think I agree with the assessment that Trump should operate as normal, submit a candidate and kick it to the senate and use this whole thing as an added incentive for voters to get out and vote red all down the ticket to keep control of the senate.

Worst case scenario if Trump somehow loses then he can still always rush through the process before inauguration. 😄

Here's the thing, the reason the GOP has been able to push back on all of that is because it's demonstrably false, whereas in this case it would be inarguably true.
It is also true that it is perfectly legal for Trump to nominate and try to get one through before then.

Maybe he fails, maybe not, but just sitting on it...maybe it will motivate the base, maybe it will backfire.

I didn't like it when it was done before, and if it becomes precedent, normalizing 'SCOTUS pick delay till after election' maybe come the norm that gets pushed out for longer and longer periods.

I worry about a point where SCOTUS noms become impossible to get through unless one party holds a super-majority in the Senate and the WH, because it will keep getting delayed for longer and longer periods.

Trump can nominate whoever he wants, whenever he wants, he's not the one that invoked the Biden rule against Garland. The issue would be confirmation in the senate.

I idly wonder if I would get a permanent ban from our insane sister sites if I started posting that the witch is dead in their RBG death threads.

Republicans need to move quickly. Don’t leave a Supreme Court seat up to chance. Slam through whatever candidate you can before Election Day. That way, on the off chance Biden cheats his way in, at least the court will be secure for a short time.

And tell any demonrat that complains to go eat shit and fuck themselves on a steel spiked dildo.

Pence would be the tie breaker no?

Given that the Dems are on the way to potentially stealing the election, the fact three republicans are in tough districts shouldn’t matter.
