In all seriousness, I'm unhappy that she's dead. Partially because death sucks, but also because she turned her own career into a ghoulish death watch that is going to toss more napalm onto the political fire.

Not sure if filling the seat is the most politically useful thing. Nothing gets the republican electorate out like a SCOTUS nomination.

I'd say that the Democrats will do everything to push that nomination for after the election anyway.

This election just got super extra important.
If republicans have any decency and consistency, they'll wait until after the election to try to get someone through. Some of us are old enough to remember them taking the stance that we should wait until after the election, when they were blocking Obama's nomination.

After everything the Dems have done, they don't get to cry hypocrisy if Trump gets one through before Nov 3rd.

Trump doesn't need to ram anything through. He has a published list of candidates; after the appropriate time has passed, he nominates one, and then it's in the Senate's hands. How long it takes is up to them.
If I were in his shoes, I'd probably wait the average duration after a SCOTUS member dies to make the nomination, and leave it at that.

Here's the thing, the reason the GOP has been able to push back on all of that is because it's demonstrably false, whereas in this case it would be inarguably true.
