My understanding is different, I'm afraid.

There are two camps, the much smaller still even tries to engage in (what hasn't actually been since SCOTUS basically shat all over the definition of marriage with their really poorly thought out gay marriage ruling) bigamous polygyny. And then, they are living in illegaility. And then, they showed their giving a shit by living in small communities with huge families not all that different from the Amish. And then, they've done some of the sketchier polygamous thing. And then, one has to consider that Islam's take on polygyny where you had to not only be able to afford more than one wife, but you have a limit of 4 is actually better than the 8 or so wives some of these dudes have.

And then, the other camp follows the eventual edict that was issued over following the laws of the land, which includes when polygamy is actually bigamy. And then, given that they've become a lot more, overall, like every other :edit: religion that everyone who isn't really interested in theology that's indistinguishable from and that the very first few entries on every search engine I tried end up calling it a :end edit: Christian denomination, that probably won't change.
