Fallout Fallout General Thread - War, War Never Changes. Nor do game engines.

I guess so but it sounds he took it to an unhealthy... level.

🥁

I'm not even autistic and spend a queer amount of time creating Versus threads that only @ATP pretty much responds to so I mean... it doesn't sound that off. Thousands of peeps are probably engaging with his mod work and there's something concrete to look back on.

Fair enough.

But you can agree that's another level. A versus thread (unless you are an AH.com etc mod) needs someone to be : willing, literate and have fantasy. Which you clearly have.

But to "re-do" an entire mods chàracters with voices (regàrdless if he or she uses ài voices) is ... borderline nuts.

No, it's just passion. It's the same for people who write fanfics of over 1,000,000 words, or youtubers who make several hours-long review videos of films. There's even a guy who made AI voices for all of the NPCs in Warcraft Classic, and is currently working on Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King voiceover as well.

The passion fueling creativity is always an amazing sight to behold.

...And here I am, a schmuck who just wants to learn how to get Tiberian Sun EVA and CABAL voices as AI, so I can use them as voice overs for other future projects. :ROFLMAO:

Mmmm it'll still be a challenge for computer games to reach the immersion one can get with an actual thinking Dungeon or Game Master...

Been doing a playthrough of Fallout 1in2 (Fallout 1 ported into the Fallout 2 engine), currently need to explore the Glow.

Wish me luck. X_X

Okay...Glow is complete. Brotherhood has been joined.
Now grinding against Deathclaws to get to level 18 to get Sniper.
My six perks I chose were...

Toughness (only 1 rank)
Better criticals
Bonus rate of fire
Action Boy (1 rank)
Tag (to get Energy weapons up high real quick)
Sniper
Edit: Oh yeah, traits was Gifted (soooo OP lmao) and Jinxed.

Well, beat Fallout 1, woo! Now I have to work on FO2...Oh dear...

Also, I hate how flanderized Deathclaws got in later titles. People have this weird insistence that they tore through armor like paper, when they actually don't deal much damage at all in FO1 or 2. They DO have giant healthpools but you can comfortably take on a single deathclaw with dogmeat and Ian, or by your lonesome with weapons like burstfiring assault rifle/SMG, or .223 pistol.

Outside of critical hits, Deathclaws could barely dent regular power armor, let alone hardened power armor.

Yeah, it’s annoying. Then again, I also find how FO2 helped pave the way for the ‘wackier’ elements of the setting to come more to the forefront under Bethesda to be even worse.

I don't mind much of FO2's silly elements, at least they're charming in the silly B-movie ways. There's a few stinkers but god damn nothing as bad as FO3 and 4's events. X_X

FO2 is just full of power creep though, which is somewhat annoying.
I think Gauss weapons are fine, Small Guns were a bit 'meh' in FO1 aside from the excellent .223 pistol.
But pulse weapons are a bit...Excessive. Turbo Plasma rifle is already very powerful and we needed even MORE punch?...

I mean, plenty of mods add to it, and there is a new DLC sized mod that came out recently.
Another one is in the works.
The settlement building is great especially with mods.
The minuteman annoying is stupid and iirc there are mods that fix that
