Gloating before he wins is foolish. You're all feeding the troll with that.
The reality is, and I'm tired of being called a doomer for it: Trump probably isn't going to remain president.
Do I believe all the claims of fraud? Absolutely. I've seen enough. I believe it.
Do I think they'll manage to turn the election back to Trump, the legitimate winner? Nope.
Do I hope they can? Absolutely.
Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
You should all be working to bolster yourself for this potential loss. Seriously. Gloating about a win before it even happens will just make you look like a dumbass if it doesn't. It'll make you feel shitty later. So why feed the troll? You're just giving him more shit to throw at you later. He's here to collect salt, gloat and laugh at you. You're giving him exactly that.
I get fucking tired of being called a doomer or demoralized. There isn't a damn thing I can do, except sit and wait. I'm not going to let myself get overly hopeful just to be deflated and let down. I'm also not going to panic. I am going to do the only thing I can do: wait for the process to go through, and spread the correct news to people when I have the opportunity.
Being "demoralized," means NOTHING, regarding the legal processes that are going down. They'll either work, or they won't, and my mindset has no bearing over it. Convincing myself that be is going to pull this off, against a odds, does not increase the chance that he will.
So, I choose to have a mindset that is prepared to lose. That way when/if he does lose, I've already processed it and can move on.
Now some of you will come in to tell me how our republic is basically over, if he doesn't pull this off. They'll use this as justification as to why I should panic. I choose not to panic. This, again, is out of my control. I agree that our republic is in grave danger. These are dire circumstances, and very well could be over, and is certainly on the path towards it.
You must remember: It's not too late yet. We have a supreme court, and republicans will hopefully hold the Senate. We have a bunch of smaller courts and a bunch of state legislatures. Even if Biden takes the presidency, this was a weak ass win. He will have 4 years of gridlock and be forced to work through executive actions. Which can easily be overturned by the next guy.
We are in for 4 years of this mess. Then we can take it back. You better believe in 4 years time, this election security is going to be better, we will demand nothing less.
So for now, I'll do what I can do. Hope for, and prepare for, a red wave in 2022 and 2024. I'll donate where necessary and spread the word of candidates. Maybe even collect signatures and get voters signed up, when the time comes.
As of now, it's sit and wait. Right now, I honestly think it's unlikely he pulls off this maneuver and takes his legitimate win. I just don't see it happening. Too much stuff has to go just right.
He got cheated. It sucks. It's time to start trying to prevent that from happening again.
No need to panic.
