In all likelihood, if Trump loses, the Neocons will re-exert their power over the GOP and will be picking the future presidential candidates that conservative voters will be allowed to vote for. Maybe they will be a bit edgier or more bombastic, in a shallow attempt to emulate Trump's style rather than his substance, but they will be Neocon DC establishment guys who take their orders from the same people pulling Joe Biden's strings. Trump was a unique phenomenon and that phenomenon will likely die with his political career.

Though, whether Neocons or more ideologically true, I don't foresee there ever being another Republican president after Trump.

I mean I'm basically operating on like 4 hours sleep at this point right now lol because I was up watching the election. I think spelling mistakes can be forgiven. Heck even I'm making them now because I'm so tired.

Idk. I think a fall somewhere in the middle between what one would call a "Neocon" or a Trumpian style "American Civic nationalist." The current geopolitical order is basically guaranteed by the security umbrella provided by the US. The US patrols the Seas to keep trade and shipping routes open to the rest of the world. Its military commitments also contain blatantly expansionist and aggressive powers like China for example. If the US withrdraws from world affairs it would probably create a massive power vaccum throughout the rest of the world. China for example would make even more aggressive moves in the South China Sea, and this would likely trigger some sort of arms race/panic within South East Asia. I could see Japan remilitarize out of fear of a Chinese threat to their sovereignty. Then there's Russia which wants a warm water port and to secure resources for itself as its facing a major demographic collapse in the coming decades.

I feel like there's a lot of nuance to these issues that gets lost in our current political discourse.

I mean the Corona Virus thread bit with 'official' numbers being pushed by Staff/Zoe, the clusterfuck the 'Civility Enforcement Announcement' became after Ship's trolling Hitler joke and Zoe's 'tea house' bit, and then this?

Its a disturbing trend of overreaction and attempting to push certain public narratives via mod action.

Trump is the bitch of anyone with an ounce of power. Dictators. Corporations. The rich. Politicians. If Trump sees anyone with a little wealth and power, he rushes to suckle at their teet.
