East Palestine Ohio Train Crash & Poison Gas Plume Megathread

I have literally never seen railroad tracks like that anywhere here in America. Even abandoned lines that no longer run don't look like that.

Not that I can't believe it's that bad in some places, it honestly just makes seeing something like that all the worse.

What the hell?

We have a guy in charge of transportation who's supposed to be handling stuff like this.

Only he's mad that white construction workers are a thing so don't expect it to be fixed or cared about anytime soon.

That seems to be an Ohio thing. Down here in SC we have normal run of the mill train tracks.
Not even the tracks in ths majority of ohio are like this. Even old abandoned ones are in better condition. Not sure where this is, but the majority of our tracks are just normal.

Them blocking this is bad, but things spreading that wide is actually good.

Once it gets into the air, dispersion is the only way for it to become safe. Concentration is how you get debilitating or lethal doses.

Of course, most politicians probably have no clue about that.
True, but it also LOOKS BAD. Which is good b/c it might help bring consequences for those who enabled this to happen.

What it does, is demonstrates how fucking much of this shit was released, which rightfully makes those responsible look REALLY BAD, which is why everyone is trying to sweep it under the rug.

We must not allow this to be swept under the rug. This is the time for grassroots movements to keep this story circulating.

The problem is, the nastiest stuff is heavier than air, and the lingering effects of...well, lets not mince words here, I think the phosgene gas exposure (and exposure of other bits of nastiness) was a lot wider and lot more severe than the railroad, gov, or media want known. Particularly with the maintenance issues coming to light about the train, given it broke down just days beforre and workers were worried about the length/weight of the train.

However, shutting down the site tracking the particulates from the burn off is all sorts of sus, and only makes this look more like a cover-up.

Now, it should be noted, the train cars were not venting as designed, and one was on fire (and VC is impossible to put out once on fire), so the options were 'burn it all off and deal with the fallout' or 'multiple BLVEs inside the town and unknown debris pattern after detonation'.

Okay am I crazy or is there a reasonable explanation for why all these trains are derailing so near each other time wise like is it’s weather conditions in all these different states or are all our tracks just magically failing all at once. It’s weird and I wish all the state governments involved did a investigation into whoever is in charge of track and train maintenance and upkeep this is getting ridiculous.
