A four ship PLAN task force was dicking about the Aleutian Islands near Alaska. The Chinese vessels were apparently a Type 055 destroyer Nanchang, Type 052D destroyer Guiyang, replenishment ship 903, and electronic surveillance ship 799. They were intercepted by two US Coast Guard Cutters, the USCGC Bertholf and USCGC Kimball, both of which are Legend-class Cutters.
The Chinese vessels did enter America's Exclusive Economic Zone, approaching within 46 miles of the Aleutian coastline but never entered US territorial waters apparently.
Coast Guard did its main job of Coast Guarding apparently.

Doubt it, if China tries to take Taiwan by force most of that economy is going to be burned to the ground.I'm wondering if China is looking at a takeover attempt of Taiwan in order to try and prop up their economy with "conquered gold."
Realistically, I think they are trying to gather as much intel on how Taiwan responds militarily to their incursions.
If they succeded they would have the largest semiconductor manufacturers in thier hands and corner the marketDoubt it, if China tries to take Taiwan by force most of that economy is going to be burned to the ground.
And that's not even counting an attack on Taiwan would lock them out of most of the worlds economic markets.
Bold of you to assume that Tawain wouldn't blow the plants to deny them to the enemyIf they succeded they would have the largest semiconductor manufacturers in thier hands and corner the market
I am pretty sure they would be a capture target for ChinaBold of you to assume that Tawain wouldn't blow the plants to deny them to the enemy
But... They won't...If they succeded they would have the largest semiconductor manufacturers in thier hands and corner the market.
Which Taiwan would know and counter.I am pretty sure they would be a capture target for China.
China makes them as well, just not to the same standard. So if Taiwan burns them down, they just opened the market for inferior chips....But... They won't...
Because even if China somehow succeeds in taking Taiwan those factories are going to burnt to the ground before they can take custody of them... And the expertise needed to run them will have either fled the country or be dead...
Which Taiwan would know and counter.
Good chances that it would be treated like bridges during WW2. Wire the place with explosives, place some reserve garrison, tell them to press the button if they see Chinese troops and run.China makes them as well, just not to the same standard. But you think Taiwan will burn them down at the start of the invasion? That would be the stupidest move they could makd
It is a spec Ops missions. Not Nirmal infantryGood chances that it would be treated like bridges during WW2. Wire the place with explosives, place some reserve garrison, tell them to press the button if they see Chinese troops and run.
